McCallum was decent off the bench. His shot didn't fall but he took good shots. His defense is much better than Sessions and I believe Ray had 0 turnovers so I'm okay with his performance, he has yet to get consistent minutes so there is much room for improvement

I went to my first Kings/Lakers game today. Lakers fans are annoying. My wife won two tickets at work I was in a suite today, they were awesome. I'm usually up by the Skyline so watching the game in the lower level is completely different. I don't think I can go back to watching from the nose bleeds

Even the suites are pretty high. Id recommend tryin to get lower bowl in Sacramento. Much cheaper and yes, ill never sit in the upper bowl again if i can help it

Back in CA for the holidays and took the parent's to see the game. Ray is now my mother's favorite player. He might not have overly distinguished, but his defense made a positive impact. My mother admired his hustle. If he could knock down those long range shots consistently he'd lock down that position coming off the bench.

I'd rather not notice him than blatantly notice Sessions. I do agree though that Ray didn't distinguish himself and that jumper needs to be better. He does need work, no doubt. I don't know definitively if he is long term either, but I can't stand Sessions and Ray is young and hopefully we will see what he has either way

Exactly. He doesn't turn it over much and plays so much better defense its not even funny. He obviously is not as good as getting in the lane as Sessions but do we really need that from our back up guard?

Exactly. A guard that can impact a game in the little ways, get the ball to the right guys, set up the offense (shout out to Pill! haha :P ), and guard his position effectively is the exact kind of player you want on a team with the offensive talent this team has. His impact is noticeable if you watch what he's doing. He's doing all the little things that don't always show up in the stat sheets under his own name. He makes hard cuts, he gets the ball up quickly without wasting time, he moves to the open slots on the floor to maximize spacing, etc. If he can do that and nobody really notices him, well he's doing the job that will keep him in the NBA for a long time because I can tell for sure that coaches and teammates notice what he's doing. The fact that he's shown that he can be even more than that if given the chance means this kid is a keeper no question.

Lol. Ray's defense kept the Lakers in the game and gave them that lead we had fight back from. One steal and 1:1 a:t ratio is not doing the little things.

It's Kevin Martin all over again, except he at least had one trick up his sleeve other than being a fan favorite.

Its comparing him to who he is vying for minutes with. I can understand the discussion of those who want to bring in a more established backup vet at PG who is currently not on the roster, but I hope Sessions is gone personally

You're right, it's something all over again, but it's not Kevin Martin, it's something else... for some reason the name Demarcus Cousins pops up in my head.

Dude, don't go overboard when someone compliments someone for being a ROLE PLAYER. No one is saying this guys a future superstar but to deny the defense he is capable of playing, for a 2nd year player with little opportunity to play mind you, makes it look like who is ever saying that isn't really even watching he or the game while he's out there. To also not recognize the impact he had in his few minutes in this last game is also just looking the other way. The team made a push while he was in because he stopped Lin from getting wherever he wanted whenever he wanted for a few consecutive plays. Next time watch how Ray busts his hump defensively. He works really hard on that end. At least give him that much.
