Chances of SVG having a heart attack on the sideline plummet accordingly.

Only Philly can claim him off waivers but except from them we are the team that can offer him the best contract. Which we will not because he will go to a contender for a vet min.

can we pay him the most and then facilitate a trade to somebody who wants him? just curious if that's allowed.

I think we can't trade him again for three months under the CBA rules.

Is this a joke?

No

If Josh Smith ends up with the Rockets, I'd see if we could pry away Terrence Jones. Anyone not named Giannis or Jabari would be on the table.

I have interest in Josh Smith if we can get him for cheap. He is what I'm looking for, a player with upside. If he turns out to be a bust, which is likely, then release him and no harm done. But if Kidd can muster his considerable talent into a good basketball player, then it's worth it to me.

people here? why would that matter to me? :o

I hadn't heard publically where teammates didn't want him back in indy or anything along those lines in charlotte. if anything my impression had been the opposite of that from what ive read......that despite whatever difficulties he presents he was wanted.

Well if these articles are true wouldn't that tell you that the vast majority here knew what they were talking about you were... you know... wrong for wanting to bring a total headcase here?

There have also been articles posted about how Hibbert and his teammates loathed Stephenson because of how selfish he became after missing the all-star game.

excuse me? You do know that he is a 10 year veteran right?

On T.Jones : He has a weird nerve injury that has no estimated time of recovery and could be very well be reccuring for the rest of his career. I am not interested in him at all and unless we could get the NOP pick I wouldn't trade our best assets for him (Knight Sanders Henson Ersan).Well maybe Ersan if we get no better offers I would trade.

the articles linked were published in the last 24 hours. the first one describes rumblings from Indiana from last year about chemistry in the lockerroom but yet once he was a free agent multiple pacers players and bird were all on record for saying they hoped they could work something out and retain him.

then today.... this new report about charlotte. all that had been reported before was that as bad a fit as it was apparent he had become that hed kept his mouth shut and hadn't been contributing to any inflammatory rhetoric about his time being cut. certainly his body language hasn't been good but to me that's forgiveable considering the situation hes in.

as far as people here randomly spitballing their opinion not knowing details I could give a sht. every single time id called to pursue him.... id mentioned first and foremost that UNLESS THERE WAS SOMETHING GOING ON THAT HAD NOT BEEN PUBLISHED!!!... I was fine with pursuing him. if there was something behind the scenes we hadn't been made aware of then I would certainly trust not pursuing him.

this article is the first that's been published EVER making the comments that despite however difficult he may have been that his teammtes didn't still value his contribution on the floor. that's a different story than we heard thru the offseason when the pacers were still pursuing him and offered even a 5 year deal.

The Pacers players said they are not "encouraging" the front office to trade for Lance.

IDK how people turned that into "Pacer players are against team trading for Lance". But well done media in yet again spinning words into exactly what you want them to be.

All of this while there is still absolutely zero proof that Lance is any issue at all in the locker room. Every report out of Indy last year were rifts involving George and Hibbert, and that is it.

my understanding was that smoke was potentially being created by the media and that in the lockerroom it wasn't as big a deal. unlike the sanders situation where there are tangible, specific, and repeated issues that are easy to discuss... there hasn't been much in the case of Stephenson. just a disorderly conduct case in hs.... a trumped up ultimately dismissed case with his girlfriend 5 years ago.... and then rumors since that he annoyed his teammates because he might play too selfishly.

weigh all that with bird and the pacers offering him 5 years..... and MULTIPLE pacers players coming out in the offseason saying that they hoped he resigned.

I think the media is piling on this guy. that's just my .02 right now. I could be wrong. maybe theres more to it then whats been published.

And? That's an argument you can use for players who have never shown anything. Josh Smith used to be good.

I stand by my statements, he's talented. He just needs a good coach to reign him in.

Because trading for Anthony Mason worked so well for the Bucks? No Thanks on Josh Smith, same type a cancer.

McCollum looked good tonight. Bucks should trade Henson and Wolters for mMcCollum and Barton.

He had an upside of toughness that the team lacked, but the downside was his attitude and totally ruined the team chemistry.
