Question about josh smith

Post#1 » by IversonsMother » Sat Dec 20, 2014 2:48 pm

I'm looking to pick him up in my fantasy league. I've noticed his minutes are down the past 4 games. Any reason for that? Any help would be appreciated.

Safe pickup.. Smith has been playing better and coach is probably just trying out other rotations.. Usually Smith gets his minutes.

He's not in that good a shape - he added weight in the off-season and his cardio isn't there with it yet and he's more effective in lesser minutes.

Thanks for the replies. I noticed just recently his minutes are down. I would be trading valuable players for him so if his conditioning is a problem I will probably pass on it.

I dont play Fantasy ball but is a guy like Smith good in fantasy? I mean he can put up numbers all across a stat sheet but is his god awful efficiency a nail in the coffin?

Great question and I wondered that earlier when I read this thread.

Depends what game style, if you're playing Categories he's great because he'll help in points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals which outweighs FG% /FT%, plus if you got some efficient higher volume shoothers you can withstand one player being awful like that (Rondo) :P, he can probably start at both PF/SF too which helps versatility setting up lineups day to day.

He's ranked 167th in standard 9-Category leagues, so pretty terrible.

Josh Smith #22... Greg Monroe # 30... they are both bad investments for the future...

I'm of the opinion you'd be better off trolling the waiver wire than having Smith take up a roster spot regardless of what league type you're playing.

His shooting kills you!

Yeah I actually drafted him in my fantasy earlier this year, I dropped after week 5! I kept giving him a chance, but his shooting % just kept killing me!

I believe you're confusing "fantasy" with "pipe dream", and I don't want to have what Dumars was smoking.

You really dodged a bullet there. He's not even in the league as of the next 48 hours.
