They must let DeMarco get that team record!
Yeah, not really. I mean, who cares? It's about the team winning, not individual records. Is it a big deal to you?

doesn't matter to me but you don't think there isn't a contract bonus for breaking a team record or winning rushing title?

let him play & if he breaks it he breaks it. I wouldn't want us changing plays just so he can break it, but I wouldn't try & stop him as long as it is in the flow of the game.

I hope he gets it. It would mean a lot to not just him, but the OL as well. He deserves it for what he has given this team.
But no, I wouldn't do something like change plays or make sure he gets it. Thing is he is likely going to get it just by playing.

I'd play the regulars through the first half and have most out by the start of the 4th quarter.
That should land Murray the record

It's a different staff and team now than 2007. I remember going into that finale at Washington and romo had a couple of records of Whites in sight. TO was hurt for one but Glenn had been out all yr and they wanted him to play some. They let Romo play but sat out some players. It was a disaster. The Skins won the game and got a WC spot. It was the worst game we played all season. If you play any of them you should play all that are healthy.

Man, I'd bench him cause Im thinking theres a chance he's not a Cowboy next year. To take Emmitts record would be somewhat of a shame.

"Take?" How about earned. He's been a force for us.
What's a record except something that measures a guys worth to his team. Murray has been invaluable to us this year, and if he gets the record, I'm fine with it, even if he goes and plays for another team. Being with another team doesn't take away what he has been for us this year.
Ultimately, the greatest record that Emmitt has is safe. I wouldn't want anyone who doesn't play for the Star to have it, unless, of course, it means a ring. I would sell the record if it meant another ring in Big D.
I wouldn't expect an Eagles' fan to understand what a ring is worth, though.

I agree. Our frame of mind should be what's best for team and getting back to the super bowl.

Man, it wasn't just Romo. They were trying to let Barber get 1,000 yards, and I think they were trying to get Witten some milestone as well.
Obviously, the #1 thing I don't want to see is a key player hurt over a game that I've read means nothing (different reports about that) to the Cowboys seeding. After that, I don't want to see some stat padding garbage, which is what we watched in 2007. The Skins handed the Cowboys backsides to them, and the Cowboys didn't even pad all the stats they were trying to pad. Everyone ended up focusing on Cabo, but before that, was the joke of a game they played against the Skins, and it ended the regular season on a very sour note.

I'm no Yankees fan. I've always and only been a fan of the Atlanta Braves, just as I've always and only been a fan of the Cowboys and the Lakers.
Not that I need to answer to you about what teams I cheer for, but if you think I'm a bandwagon fan, explain exactly how it is that I remain a fan of the Cowboys when its been a long, long drought for any real success. Same goes for the Lakers and the Braves.
This is part of your problem, Malko. You act all nice and friendly and say that you just want to talk football, but then you go and say stupid stuff.
Maybe you are the bandwagon fan, after all, the Eagles have had more success over the last twenty years than the Cowboys have. You just like the Eagles because they have been better than the Cowboys the last twenty years. You probably jumped on their wagon when McNabb took them to the Super Bowl and puked on the field. You bandwagon fan, you.

Re: They must let DeMarco get that team record!
I've never had a problem with you bro but I took a shot at you for the first time after you took a jab at me. Braves were a juggernaut too. It's a personal thing and I've dropped that battle with people. Maybe not to you but I can't think of anything more lame and less manly then rooting for the best teams historically that I have absolutely ZERO link too. It's just reeks of low self esteem. I mean if it wasn't because of people just rooting for the winners you'd see just as many Timberwolves/Browns fans as you see Laker/Cowboy fans.
I've never had a problem with people who live in or close to Texas being a Cowboy fan. I just think one should ALWAYS root for their home team and that's why I respect Cubs fans. They love their squad even though they never win. If the Eagles/76ers/Phillies won a championship Id enjoy it but people think teams represent who they are. Just super duper lame if you ask me... And also the vast majority of men. lakers, Cowboys and Braves uuuugh. You can just see what I'm talking about with BJJ. He thinks he's insulting me cause the Eagles don't win championships but thinks he's awesome cause the Cowboys are winning. When people insult the Eagles choke job I don't take it personal cause it has nothing to do with me. BJJ has never been to a Cowboys game and has never been to Texas... But he's a winner cause the Cowboys win.... Ummm, NO!

Your trying to bring the level down now Malko. Once again, its in YOUR MIND. I'm not trying to insult you or anyone. I just call it the way I see it and you can't handle it. Your the only one being insulting since you joined this room. At least you didn't say anything about anyone's mom or wife today. Now since the Thanksgiving game, the Egals were in the driver seat. I'm mean, doesn't the cream rise to the top in December. If that isn't a choke job on the Egals, then explain tome what You think we should call it. And by the way, I have been to Texas a few times and seen many Cowboy games including Super Bowls X & XIII. Nice try again Malko.

Classic Malco trying to derail a thread again. Just can't help yourself and stay on topic. What a troll.

now if I read this right. You think anyone not living in the Dallas area can be a true Cowboys fan? I have never been to texas, so I obviously never been to a Cowboys game, but the only favorite team I have ever had in football has been the Cowboys. I have never changed my favorite team. I didn't realize you were so simple minded.

What if you live in a state without a team?
Now if your kids chose to be Eagle fans will you demand they don't.

Re: They must let DeMarco get that team record!
My kid is a Cardinals fans first because thats where they were born. Of course Im gonna get ripped being in the heart of a Cowboys board but a Lakers/Cowboys/Braves fan came to fruition via one route and one route only. You had a home team that you turned your back on and decided to root for teams with glorious histories. Just own it and admit it. I think it is REALLY freaking lame but on the other hand it doesnt define you completely as a person. A Cowboy fan outside of Texas might be great parents, husbands, community members etc. I dont know. But to choose teams just cause they win is corny. Its a personality type. In the Olympics I root for the USA Basketball team to lose. When there are two teams I dont care about in a championship game I go for the under dog. When the 2000 Miami Hurricanes played Akron... Im rooting for Akron.
But the big difference between me and BJJ specifically is I dont think that the Eagles represent who I am. I love them and always will but he comes on here thinking he's a winner cause 20 years ago Dallas won the SB. When Philly smashed Dallas he hid. When Philly beat Dallas last year to go to the playoffs my first post was, "Dallas would have won with Romo". For some reason people think, "Oh, Malkos just trying to say something nice but I just try to be objective. When Philly smashed Dallas on Thanksgiving I said, "It doesnt matter cause Philly aint doing nothing this year". Remember BJJ last year saying Dallas was going 16-0? I do. Now he's telling us he went to SB 10 which means he is at least in his late 50s and theres absolutely no way someone that stupid and immature is pushing 60 years old.

Re: They must let DeMarco get that team record!
Ah no, I believe I said 11or 12 games if they stayed pretty much healthy. Actually I went to both super bowl10 and 13 which were in Miami each time. I couldn't possibly have and Uncle and Aunt that lived there though. If I cared enough about you Malko, I could mail you all my ticket stubs to every Cowboy game I ever went to. But I keep them in a safe place in my blue room. Oh, and next thanksgiving, win, lose or draw, I won't run and hide. I'll just blow away my family for 4 days so I can banter with an attention seeking drama troll in his own idealistic world.
