Kieff>Smith
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Tolliver was useless for the Suns, but Horncats and Warriors fans liked him a lot.

I wonder if we will take a look at Mitchel first (in the D-League?) or waive him immediately.

Ummm tolliver is good for a three point field goal a game. And that just about Sums it up.

McD wouldn't dump assets to free up a roster slot unless they needed it to complete another deal. Another trade or signing should be right around the corner.

Pistons fans: Tolliver wasn't doing much for us besides hoisting up threes for 5-10 minutes a game. He wasn't good at defense, rebounding, or much else really. Maybe Stan Van can get more out of him.

I think we'll take a look at him...

Not taking a look at all. He is getting cut to free up cap space.

@paulcoro: The #Suns traded Anthony Tolliver to Detroit for Tony Mitchell, who they are expected to waive. Their cap space will increase to $6.1M.

Probably means they are working on another trade.

Can't be a coincidence that the Rockets are working on a deal to free up a roster spot for Smith at the same moment. The Suns have just freed up enough space to take on any player on the Houston roster (except Howard, Harden, or Ariza) without sending anyone back. We could end up getting a player like Capella and a pick to go along with it.

1. I liked Tony Mitchell for the Suns during the draft, thought he'd be a poor man's Josh Smith back then.

2. Even if the Suns decide to keep him, he'd need minutes to develop. Hence I think he will be waived, and as mentioned he doesn't look to have the work ethic.

Rockets could be trading D.Mo to make room for Smith???

Don't tell rockets fans that. They think they are getting dragic. Or should I say they are 100% sure they are getting dragic. It's good entertainment.

Sorry Josh.... no room on this ChuckWagon

I doubt we'd get a first from Houston to go along with a player like Capella. I'm more or less hoping there will be some interest in David West. Big Body Banger is what we need. Not but a few out there. Have not heard anything/rumors.... but isn't that a good sign ? I guess too, we now have enough space to acquire string bean Wright for a pick. Something is brewing.

Good luck Tolly... the consummate journeyman, soon to rival Drew Gooden and his 10+ team jersey collection.

We haven't heard rumors much with Suns trades since McD has been around. This Tolliver trade was no where to be seen beforehand. The Bledsoe deal came out of the blue. So did the Scola deal.

But this trade is a good deal even if nothing else follows. At the very least it might buy Warren a few more minutes.

Him and his agent conned us on his Channing Frye like prowess for a much lower salary. They lauded his 3 point numbers and percentages. We saw neither.

As for the Rockets..... They are not giving up a 1st to dump last years 1st's salary. Thats just dumb. If they need to clear a roster space, all signs point to them waiving either Dorsey or Black outright.

Yeah, if they wanted to move Capela someone would offer them at least a high 2nd round pick (or a protected 1st) like we did for Marcus Morris.

With this move, the Suns have $6+M in cap space. If you combined that with IT ($7M) and possibly Plumlee ($1.5M) or any permutation thereof, you could bring back a quite expensive player (big man) or someone like Drummond with room to sign him next offseason. I do not know if there is any out there to be had, but let the speculation begin.

Good trade, Tolliver it was a waste of a roster's spot. He had not future or even present on this team.
Move on.
