After trading Tolliver now the Suns have enough cap room to absorb Wright's contract:

Wright for MIN 2015 1st rounder (protected for selections 1-12 in 2015 and 1-12 in 2016; if Minnesota has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Phoenix by 2016, then Minnesota will instead convey its 2016 2nd round pick and 2017 2nd round pick to Phoenix)

The Suns obviously need frontcourt-help while the Celtics cashing in two high 2nd rounders for the expiring Wright who they don't need anyway.

So, it's essentially a TPE and 2 2nds for Wright because I can't see Minny finishing out of the bottom 12 the next two seasons. Nevertheless, I think this is a fair trade value wise, just not sure if Boston wants to move him in a Cavs trade that nets them even more.

Alex Len is better than Wright.

Well he's different anyway. Don't think you can call him the better player yet. But he does provide some size that Wright simply doesn't have.

Can't beat the price for Phoenix as they get to try him out for essentially free. Seems like he could carve out some minutes at the 4/5. OTOH the Suns still seem to playing for next year in which case trading even an asset as meager as that pick probably isn't worth it for a rental.

I'd think Boston could get a better asset for Wright.

That's debatable but even if it is correct it doesn't mean that Wright would not be servicable for the Suns.

Wright would eat up Tolliver's and Randolph's minutes and take away some/most of from Plumlee.

Sorry, for some reason I thought this was the thread in which was trading away Isaiah Thomas.

Boston just traded Rondo for a deal centered around Wright. I don't think they'll trade him away for 2 second re picks.

I would rather want Isaiah Thomas than that pick.

Yeah, two seconds isn't enough of a return for me. Someone will give more value for that. Especially since more than a few teams need big man help. Boston can do better.

Meh. The Suns aren't in a "8th seed or die trying" mode. They can go after Wright in free agency if they want him that badly. I don't think he will make that big of a difference this year for the Suns. Wright doesn't solve any of the Suns biggest issues - rebounding and low post defense.

If Boston is ready to pay the price, they can have IT.

Maybe but it is not given, especially if you remember what respective teams got for Hawes and Deng.

A servicable backup bigman with expiring contract is not worth a late lottery-mid 1st round pick.

I think this is a good trade for both sides IF Ainge doesn't want Wright on his roster next year.

I'm no fan of PER, but Wright is top ten in it, right above LeBron.

I'm sure BOS can do better than the MIN pick, which is almost certainly two future second rounders.

For a couple 2nd rounders you can't expect to solve the biggest issues.

Go from Rondo - to Wright - to couple 2nds (Wolves are going to be rough for next two years). Not a good look.

The Suns aren't in a position to trade future assets for an injury prone career backup who's about to hit free agency. The T-Woles pick can still be conveyed as a 1st rounder next year. With healthy Rubio, Martin and Pek + more experienced Wiggins + top prospect from this year's draft the Wolves could be in the mix for the 8th seed next year.
