Great game by Russ. I hope this Russ/Kd/Adams/Ibaka core stay together. Adams is the real deal his rebounding and defense even on the perimeter which Ibaka sucks at is really good. He completely crapped on Timmy tonight and his screens are amazing as well might be the best screener in the Nba

Morrow came up huge with 15 off the bench on 5/9 shooting. Along with Serge's 21(8 of 15) AND 9 boards, horrible defense though.

I'll say this now too for the record. I'm convinced it was the thread title change.

Westbrook has his bad moments but when he's on his game he's so dominant. I think he has the highest ceiling in the league. This year it seems like he's raised his floor, less and less bad games.

Re: The Russell Westbrook Thread (2014/15)
On Adams, I was as disappointed as anyone with his start to the season because he was awful. But that was unfair. He was thrust into a much bigger role than he's ready for. He just wasn't ready to be thrown into the fire like that. He still hasn't had many games this year where he has got to play/start with both KD and Russ, but I always thought he was more than ready for that role even though I expected some growing pains along the way. Now, though, I think he's finally settling in and getting used to a little bit bigger role than he expected. It took him a little while but he's been very, very solid the last couple or three weeks.
And Russ was just great today. The +/- numbers from the game more than sufficiently support the eye test. Not sure why Brooks waited so long to bring him back after the Spurs erased their 11 point deficit the last 3-4 minutes of the 3rd quarter and extended their run into the first 3-4 minutes of the 4th with Russ on the bench. As soon as Russ came back in, the game completely turned on its ear as Russ took over.

Said in a thread about which point guards would make OKC better if they replaced Westbrook:

Yeah, I've come to the conclusion Smith gives new meaning to the euphamism of "Ish storm". Dude's awful defensively, I have no idea why he's getting time. Man KD needs to get back, I miss him. Russ was awesome after a really slow start to boot. Charlotte on a B2B tomorrow.

And on Adams, he's the exact big the team needs, they don't need an offensive post up guy, they need basically Perk with better hands and more coordination and athletecism. That's Adams. The kid is amazing, and keeps being the pleasant surprise every week, along w/ Roberson.

See.. all this negativity around Russ and OKC can evaporate after you see another spectacular game from him.
Hopefully he goes off again tomorrow against Charlotte.

Re: The Russell Westbrook Thread (2014/15)
I find it insane how he only has 84K votes for the allstar game. How does he have less votes than Klay Thompson and Rajon **** Rondo?
He's like one of the best things to watch in the league right now. Also very surprised to see Durant 5th in voting. The fans have voted injured players all the time before and Durant is coming off being the league MVP.
Wonder if these 2 are just less popular than we think.

What's the plan in the playoffs when inevitably the good teams just do not guard Roberson and he ends up screwing your spacing? Just bench him and play Jackson ala benching Sefolosha last year?
I guess Morrow/ Lamb is probably better than Butler but still seems like despite his development Roberson will be a liability in the playoffs.
A team like Memphis for example already gave Russ and KD fits in their playoff series would love to not have to guard a guy and throw another body in the nail waiting for Russ and KD to drive.

Lololol people were saying he doesn't deserve the GOATbrook title anymore... He's at 29/6/7 for the season now, 33.2 PER. If he keeps this up this might be the best PG season ever.

Yeah, he still only plays like 20 mpg when needed, Lamb/Morrow/RJ see more time. He's not a liability as at least he's a little more aggressive than Thabo was. He cuts/slashes and shoots some, even if he misses. Thabo just didn't do anything last yr.

I don't know what it means but Westbrook has a 13.7 Box-Score PM: Curry is next highest at 8.7.
