Seahawks are overrated

Post#1 » by Eiknarflin » Thu Dec 25, 2014 3:52 pm

I know this is going against the grain of public opinion, but I'm just not getting what makes people think that Seattle is coming on strong at the end of the season. Sure, they've won several games in a row, but look at the teams they've beaten - Arizona twice, once with their back up QB and once with the backup's backup. They also beat San Fran twice in the last six weeks, and it was obvious at week three that something's not right in San Fran. They beat the Eagles, the team that just crumbled at the end of the season.

So, Seattle has some wins against some middle of the pile teams, but none of them by any huge margin. It's not like they are putting up big numbers or blowing teams out.

Seattle is a team that we can and should beat at home or on the road, so long as our defense keeps playing with effort and our offense keeps clicking.

We will be fine if we get to play Seattle again, no worries here.

I heard this point brought up on Monday morning elsewhere for the first time, and slowly but surely, it seems to be catching on across the internet. I haven't heard it run with nationally, but it sure will be fun if that happens.

With that said, I think they're legit. Probably not as good as they were last season, but still really good. Defense wins championships more times than not, and I think they have the best one going. If someone has a better one in the NFCs side of the playoffs, I'm not sure who that is.

With all that said, I don't think they're a juggernaut either. A Dallas or Green Bay team that's got it's stuff together can get it done. It's probably going to be tough though. I kinda wish this thing would have worked out to where Seattle would have had to beat them both to go to the Super Bowl.

Overrated depends on how YOU see them. For my money they are the best NFC team right now, followed closely by GB. Yes Dallas could go back to Seattle and win but I personally won't put money on it.

They are favored in the NFC for good reason.

They aren't built to blow teams out. They just wear you down physically. I think they were the reason why the Eagles crumbled. They physically man handled the Eagles and it seems like they were the team to put major doubt in the Eagles players confidence. The Eagles were rolling, the smashed Dallas and then just got physically intimidated now that they have all their players back. Jenkins on the Eagles had an easy pick 6 against them in the 4th that woulda made it a 3 point loss but the totally kicked Phillys ass. Their O isn't gonna score big points. The O did look good vs a good Cards D last week. They are the SB champs and are hot at the right time. I think the way Dallas or GB beats them is to score early and get another turnover forcing them to play catch up but their D is for real with Wagner back and Chancellor healthy. They'll be a VERY tough out in the playoffs cause they are a very proud team.

Look how there D is playing too 3 points vs AZ, 3 points for SF, 14 for Philly, 6 vs AZ. That looks like 2 TDs given up in the last 20 quarters. That's tremendous. Oh, and one of Phillys scores was after a turnover inside the 5. Take that TD away and they've given up 1 TD in 20 quarters.

Whoops, San Fran scored a TD too. Add that into those stats. I think it's silly to say Dallas "should" beat them in Seattle. Dallas will be MAJOR underdogs in that rematch.

While I agree with you that Dallas would be a huge underdog in Seattle and would also even be an underdog at home, I have no problem with a Dallas Cowboy fan, on a Dallas Cowboy forum, thinking otherwise. I also know that after the way we beat the **** out of them physically in their house in a Game that could have been a 3 TD Dallas win, that making a case that we should beat them again isn't that difficult.

This team has already outperformed expectations. A playoff win would just be huge for a team that should be better next year and the following few years assuming they keep the core players intact and Romo stays at this level. Now a first round loss would be a big blow, because we've already clinched the division, but moving forward into next year, even a first round loss provides the building block that this team needs.

I don't know if football is like that anymore Jarntt. You don't always just get better the next year. Both Philly and Dallas are facing major FA issues and are both going to lose key players. Now it's seems like each year is a separate opportunity. Another issue is teams getting older. Romo is getting old, the Eagles OLine is getting old. It's a really difficult task in keeping your team good year after year. The biggest thing is to nail a comple drafts in a row so you can field inexpensive talent.

I agree, but I'm talking about this particular team and I even said "if they keep their core players intact and Romo stays at this level".

Our OL is young and getting better. Our Defense should have more talent next year than this year and a couple of our younger guys will have another year under their belt. And of course we will get another chance to see if our best defensive player can finally make it though a season without getting hurt.

My team for 2015 to really take it to the next level are the Cardinals. They are a good team that still has a good record that have just been devastated by injuries. They have Dockett coming back and, more importantly, Darryl Washington returning. They have to be respected for not completely folding after all the QB injuries too. Their problem is that they have cap issues and that Fitz contract is AWFUL at this point in his career. The one player I think could turn them into a legit SB contender is FA Demarco Murray. They have a great coaching staff too. Unfortunately for them, they dont have the cap space to get Murray. I could see them going after Gurley though.

It has been a shame that Lee cant stay on the field. You know I dont like the Cowboys but he is just one of those enemies you root for. I felt the same way about D. Ware too. He definitely deserves a healthy year in 2015. His leadership would be instrumental in turning that D around... along with some good DLineman and secondary help.

oooh... The Skins, BOys and Eagles are all gonna need to find a stud CB to deal with a major major issue for all of us in the NFC East and thats Odell Beckham. I heard he could break Michael Irvins record for consecutive 90+ yard games this week vs. Philly. I doubt he gets it because Bradley Fletcher is the best lock down corner in the NFL. NOT! Look for Beckham to eclipse 200 and I hope we lose to move up a spot or two in the draft.

Seahawks would beat down a Patriots or Broncos team assuming they can get to the Super Bowl.
