They likely can't get a significant deal done without including Barnes (high upside, low salary) and/or taking back another terrible contract. Teams with legit big men aren't going to give them up for nothing, or take on a bad contract or injured player for them. Usually including draft picks (which we don't really have) or young talent is the only way to facilitate that.

Yea we aren't going to get any great deals...I still think Lee can fill the Bogut facilitator role on offense when Bogut's out. I'm hoping it actually happens when he gets his feet under him. His minutes restriction is kinda strange to me. I feel like he could probably already be playing 30 min or so.

Give the management a chance to work it out for gods sake. Just like any team/business/family in life, when dynamics change, management and leadership can take time to right the ship. Give the guys a chance for f sake.
Panicking is way funner though.
Not sure you know how fandom and forums work! When your team loses winnable games -- frustration, panic, tear the team apart.
When the team is on a winning streak -- who can we trade to get better, this guy doesn't do that, etc etc. just how it is maaaan.
True.
I should start a "2 losses in a row, trade Curry!!" thread.

Also i noticed yesterday that weave play doesn't really do a whole lot besides get guys moving...which is never a bad thing, but it would be nice to fake a dribble handoff and get to the basket, or have the big fake a screen and cut to the basket for something.

Re: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
As far as I can tell, the real point of this thread is, "I'd like it if we could get better." Okay... great. I guess I can agree with that. Who wouldn't agree with that? For that reason it isn't much of a discussion point. The hard part is figuring out how...
To play along, the guy that keeps catching my eye is Mozgov. He does some of what we need. Inexplicably, his name has come up in trade rumors before. I have no idea what Denver thinks they are doing. So all of that seems at least interesting, except I don't know what we'd really give Denver that they'd want. Barnes might have sparked some real interest by now. A good part of our bench has been demonstrating value. We're back to where we could presumably throw in a pick. But I still have trouble putting together a suggestion I think Denver would really bite at and that clearly improves us.

Doesn't come off that way, even if you narrowed it down to 'could get better at backup C'. As fans, aren't we always saying that? #1 seed in November/December isn't the same as multiple championships, so we should always be looking to get better.
But dealing expensive vets to get a backup C.. just makes no sense on any level.
re: Mozgov, I'd imagine a deal like Rush/Ezeli/2015 1st might be enough to make it happen. Realistically, the only pieces that are moveable in a deal for a backup C are youth + expirings. And we simply don't have any expirings worth a damn

If that's all it took to get him, then fine with me. He's pretty skilled and has really good size. Not sure how much it moves the needle, but it'd be good insurance.
I think Ezeli will have some good games though. The guy twisted his ankle....It ain't broke...is it?

Re: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
OK, I'll take a stab at it.
Trade Checker
BOS in:
SF Iguodala ($13.0M, 3 years declining)
C Ezeli ($1.1M, 2 years + 1 QO)
C Kuzmic ($0.8M, 1 year)
GSW in:
C Olynyk ($2.1M, 2 years + 1 team option + 1 QO)
SF Wallace ($10.1M, 2 years)
The basic idea is GS upgrades their backup C while Boston upgrades their backup wing. Olynyk is a legit young C on a rookie contract who is a plus on both sides of the ball, and has been healthy. We have to take Wallace's contract, which is awful WRT his production, but is also 1 year shorter than Iguodala's. And he can still defend a bit. Boston gets Ezeli to fill Olynyk's departure, and Kuzmic as insurance (we already have Lee and Speights who can play C in a pinch). This deal also saves us some salary, both short and long term. Boston is just out of the 8th playoff spot in the East so Iguodala might give them an edge, don't know if they'd go for this trade though.
An alternate scenario:
Trade Checker
BOS in:
SF Barnes ($3.0M, 2 years + 1 QO)
C Ezeli ($1.1M, 2 years + 1 QO)
C Kuzmic ($0.8M, 1 year)
GSW in:
C Olynyk ($2.1M, 2 years + 1 team option + 1 QO)
SG/SF Turner ($3.4M, 2 years)
Same basic idea, but smaller salaries. Perhaps a little more favorable from Boston's perspective. (Kuzmic must be included for the salaries to work here.)

If David Lee for Kevin Garnett/Bojan Bogdanovic was on the table, would you guys pull the trigger?

Mason Plumlee would be an excellent center to backup Bogut. He can pass and facilitate while being a monster rebounder.

In a friggin heart beat.... Bogdonavic can shoot it. Doubt New Jersey would for Lee.
The Boston thing is interesting. Ainge would kill to dump Wallace. We could use Olynyk but like Cox said they like him.
What about a straight up Lee for Wallace and Brandan Wright?....Weight is really efficient and blocks shots pike a mad man.

We have Draymond/Lee/Speights/Barnes at the 4 and Bogut/Ezeli/Speights/Lee at the 5. That's a legit frontcourt rotation.
Of course when we lose 2 games in a row the go-to cliche is "we need another defensive big!", I think it's been that way for the last 10 years on this forum.
Bogut is the key, assuming we have him healthy, we'll be fine

Of course we should always look to improve. I personally would like to add without much subtraction. That's why I personally would push for Ray Allen and Jermaine Oneal. Those are two veteran adds in areas of need without subtracting more than a roster spot.
I also would look into Kevin Garnett. If it took Lee to get it done, I would do it. Solely based on toughness and defense. Championship pedigree.
But bottom line is that Bob Myers is not sitting on his hands.....I'd bet you they are working hard to find some help.
is there anyone else aside from garnett? fwiw i feel lee shouldn't be traded... thats just reducing our cover at our most injury prone position right now. trading lee would damage us badly, team chemistry wise too, considering hes the captain and the longest serving warrior on the team.
also, lee's contract is far less damaging than iggy's since it expires soon, and can i ask if there's a possibility of lee signing for cheaper after it expires? do nba rules allow that? Cos i think lee would, out of love for the warriors.
if we're looking to move anyone, it should be iggy. a few reasons
#1 his contract is massive
#2 wouldn't mind if he was performing up to it but hes not even close now. hes improved dramatically since the **** he was putting in during the first 5 games, but it still isn't enough.
#3 he does basically the same thing as shaun livingston, but shaun has better bball iq and helps steph out more. With shaun, we dont really need iggy. also, shaun's FTs are so much better than iggy's...

I can't advocate trading lee, but an iggy deal for a nice big man would be wonderful

Keep ignoring the importance of the #1 seed though
#1 seed might end up giving us Thunder in the first round

Thoughts about signing Tarik Black?

I'm not completely sure about this but.....he would have to clear waivers so we don't eat salary. Then we would have to outbid others and we don't have much cash. So it's unlikely, but someone else would know better.

Since Black is on a minimum salary, it's almost inconceivable that he'd clear waivers - somebody (probably multiple teams) will claim him and take on his contract. And if multiple teams claim him, he will end up with whatever team has the worst record among claimants...... which obviously puts the Warriors #29 in a line of 29. (Obviously the Rockets can't re-claim him.)
We should file a claim, but I think the chance of getting Black or about 0.00001%. I'd be stunned if the Mavericks don't file a claim on him (among other teams).....
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

Cleveland is inquiring about Robert Sacred, so I would think they'd he a strong candidate.
