I swear I want Reggie Jackson in FA and a wing (Stanley Johnson perhaps) in the draft.

Wouldn't mind throwing a deal at KJ McDaniels like Portland did at Wes Matthews a few years ago and seeing how we go.

Depends on the draft and what Moose plans on doing. SF is obviously our biggest need.

Not a chance in hell target but at least make an offer: Kawhi Leonard

Long shot target: Tobias Harris, Wesley Mathews

Possible he'd come here for the right money and a chance to start: Gerald Green

Most likely to sign: Wesley Johnson

These are the guys who may be interesting.

Hawks: Carroll, Millsap
Celtics: Bass, Green (P), Nelson (P), Wright
Nets: Tele (R)
Hornets: Neal (nvm he's a SG)
Bulls: Butler (R), Dunleavy (he's like Singler, therefore no)
Nuggeta: Affalo (P) ... eh I don't think he's a full time SF.
Warriors: Draymond Green .. glorified role player, he would probably fail here. Not worth the money.

Bucks: Knight / Middleton (ironic)

Wolves: Budinger, Young (ETO) meh.

Thunder: Jackson (r) *I don't think so*
Magic: Tobias Harris (R)
Suns: Dragic (p), Green
Spurs: Leonard (R), Green

I left a few teams out because I didn't like them. This would be my first list. It could be thinned down even more. I might be willing to keep guys like Singler/Jerebko/Butler over who would be their replacements... afterall, they are just mid rotation players.

Edit: I want to include our draft selection will have an interesting impact. If we take a SF, PG is a more likely target.. problem with that is Jennings 8M expiring, what are we doing? Going to make him come off the bench OR DNP? Could be a locker room problem. Would letting it play out and potentially drafting a pg in 2016 be a better play? I DON'T KNOW THE SWIM LANES OMG.

Tobias Harris
Draymond Green
Perry Jones 3
Moe Harkless
Otto Porter
Jae Crowder
Aminu
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.

Assuming Greg Monroe leaves, I see SVG going hard after Paul Millsap since he can help stretch the floor at the PF slot. I also could see SVG going after Kawhi Leonard or Jimmy Butler to be our long term SF. A lot will depend on how the draft turns out (which position we take/where we pick) and how certain players play the rest of the year (will one of our Point Guards emerge as a long term solution?). I'm not overly excited about any of the PGs available next summer.

I don't think Stan Van will make offers to RFA's - he'll think that is dirty pool or something. Besides you have to drastically overpay to get the player anyways, which is terrible team management (unless you have a franchise player playing for a third of their worth). I'd love to make a play for Butler, but feel Chicago matches no matter what, trading Gibson to keep their salary structure sane.

I would throw a large offer to Jimmy Butler and see if the Bulls blink. Either they match and have less cap space in the next few years or we get a great player. He would be my main target. If that fails...

Mirza Teletovic
Draymond Green
Thaddeus Young
Tobias Harris
K.J. McDaniels
Wesley Matthews

Those players fill positions of need and are all young enough to be considered a "part of the future". Most of them are restricted so that makes it difficult to pull off. Other than that, I would not be hugely upset if we signed one of the following to a respectable contract. I have reservations for each of them (age, injury history, "potential", ect) but I would be willing to give them an opportunity for the right price.

Arron Afflalo (age)
Marco Belinelli (injury)
Goran Dragic (expensive)
Reggie Jackson (potential/expensive)
Chase Budinger (3pt specialist)
Wesley Johnson (potential)
DeMarre Carroll (3pt specialist)

What I mean as "potential" is that they have shown that they are capable of being a good player off the bench or limited time as a starter but I am not sure they can be effective as a full time starter.

Thadeus Young, Wesley Matthews, Bargiani, Aminu, richard Jefferson, J butler, J Green if we need a pg, I guess reggie Jackson. I would go with Bargiani, and Thaddeus Young if we can get a good deal, But I would definitly offer K Lenard and Butler a really sweat deal just to make the Bulls and Spurs cough up more than they want to. first.

Its clear that we need to bolster our perimeter defense, we need a scorer on the wing, a shot creator and a defensive big, could use a PG upgrade too.

These are guys we should target

PG- Dragic (can shoot, is solid defensively, a good facilitator and capable of being the teams leader)
SG/SF- D. Green (tremendous shooter, and also a very good defender)
SF- Leonard (SAS won't lose him, but we should meet with him at midnight with a max contract in hand)
SF- Butler (Chicago won't lose him and he's not the knock down shooter that we need at the 3 spot)
SF- Harris (probably the most getable SF)
SF/PF- D. Green (don't see GSW letting him walk, and his shooting % is falling back down to earth)
SF- Carroll (he's the knock down shooter that we need, plays defense and could be cheap)
SF- G. Green (he's another very good shooter and defender, but he's streaky)
SF- J. Green (he's an average SF, probably wants to be overpaid for what he provides, worth a look if he comes cheap though)
SF- Alonzo Gee (he's a great perimeter defender and can be had for the minimum)
PF- Ed Davis (he can defend, block shots, rebound and hit a midrange jumper)
PF- Brendan Wright (can block shots and defend)
PF- Tristan Thompson (can defend, rebound, but he probably costs too much)
PF/C- Kyle O'Quin (can defend, block shots and step back and hit a jumper)

I think SVG has the same philosophy in FA that he did last year and goes for "singles/doubles" over the homerun so it wouldn't shock me at all if guys like Danny Green or Demarre Carrol were amongst his top targets

1 - draft will seriously impact our targets...I'll assume we draft a SF just because I can :-)

Free Agency begins...and I renounce every single potential free agent except Monroe obviously

Then I'd offer Millsap and Dragic $11 mil each to come here...4 year deals with maximum allowable rise probably gets it done.

Retain Monroe for whatever it takes.

Sign one of Stan's minimum wage practice players, either a big or swingman

Dre 34 minutes + Monroe 14
Monroe 20 + Millsap 28
Rookie 28 + KCP 10 + Martin 10
KCP 20 + Meeks 23 + Dinwiddie 5
Dragic 33 + Dinwiddie 15

Anthony, our 2nd round pick, Jennings & DJ make 13 on the roster, throw in another vet minimum wage big guy or swingman (Gee?) and we're done

I'm hoping we draft Stan Johnson, so that will tie up the SF position.

Draymond Green will not live up to a large contract in Detroit. He isn't going to receive the scoring opportunities in Detroit that he's getting while playing next to Curry and Thompson in Oakland. I like him, he's a fun player, but he isn't a star.

I want Draymond for his culture-changing abilities, his tenacity, and his emphasis on doing the little things, but agree he won't look anything like the player he looks like now, surrounded by the Splash Brothers. I understand the dissent, but would still be more than happy if we ended up with him.

Also, I'd love Tobias Harris or Kawhi Leonard, but like Green, they are RFAs, making it difficult.

If Monroe is gone, I agree with the crowd - Millsap would be a great replacement. I think we might offer him crazy money because we'll be desperate for another big.

If we want to go a cheaper route, I could see SVG having Orlando Magic 1 in 4 out flashbacks and going all in on Chase Budinger. This would make me somewhat uncomfortable.

Dragic would also be really tempting to throw money at.

We also have to remember that we're an afterthought in free agency, so if we want some of these players, we'll probably have to overpay. This is why I think we have to work on actually improving the rest of the season; it may hurt our tank, but we need to show potential FAs that we aren't a place to come, collect checks, and lose.

ATL is rolling right now, I doubt they let Milsap go or make any whole sale changes. I think they look upgrade at the 2/3 and add a defensive big. I know they were after Greg this offseason, but IDK- unless they are looking to make him a backup- I'm just not seeing it. THey are 2nd in the East right now, who wouldve thought?

As for Draymond, I don't think anyone considers him a star- just a premiere role player- he can shoot, score, defend, block shots, rebound. Most of all he plays with tenacity, I think he would be a good fit especially if he continues improving his shot. I just think its doubtful that GSW lets him walk and doubtful that SVG targets him.

I would be ok if we landed Carroll (40% from 3) and G.Green (38% from 3) at the wing, Kyle O'Quin at PF/C (39% from 3) and drafted a PG like Russell (47% from college 3). I don't think we chase any of the premiere FA so if we lose Monroe, it would devastate the team since I doubt any big of his caliber signs with this team- which is why I think we 5 year near max him. I think the plan is to surround Drumroe with shooters and get better defenders and creators on board while relying on internal improvements to Greg (jumpshot and defense), Drummond (must become a defensive anchor) and KCP (must be able to score efficiently consistently).
