Please bench Jordan farmer
He is just looking awful he doesn't know his role why come here if you don't know what you are signing up for. Just be solid and play pg position darn it!

Jordan Farmar Not Seeing Whole Picture
Unfortunately, Farmar is doing what I expected upon his signing except even worse. I'll say again that I think he has plenty of skills who can be of use to us if he buys in and is more disciplined in his approach, which is Doc's job to ensure.
Having said that, the problem is that he envisions himself in the Jamal Crawford role where he has license to make plays and shoot. Crawford doing that is bad enough so we definitely don't want Farmar doing this, especially when his ball-handling isn't close to Jamal's. He also sees himself separate from the team, which goes against Rivers' Ubuntu approach. Remember when he said that Lakers fans would hopefully continue to cheer for him and not necessarily the Clippers? I do.
His despondent approach to his current role only reinforces my suspicions of him and why he doesn't fit into a winning ballclub. He probably figured he could cash in by just showing up with the title of CP3's understudy a la Darren Collison, but didn't realize how much more disciplined he'd have to be than he has been throughout his career.
Maybe he'll be so dissatisfied with this role that he'll decline the player option for next season, but I don't want to chance that he can't find any takers for a contract commitment from other teams this summer where he'll opt in just to ride next season out in lameduck fashion or chuck shots to pad his stats in a contract year. We better deal him by the trade deadline.

He's had moments here and there. He has certainly under-achieved, but has shown glimpses of his top ability.

Re: Please bench Jordan farmer
It's not like Farmar has to play any great PGs, he is versing the opposition bench. He is a very talented player and it should be simply a case of running through the set plays and playing intense D for the 15 minutes he is on the court. I think Crawford 'hogging' the ball away from Farmar has put pressure on him to make miracle plays in his reduced role leading to a turnover/foul machine.

give Cunningham a chance & if he sucks package, trade or cut a combo of Jamal,Farmar & Cunningham. We are not a championship calibre team, we need a 3 a back up PG and some Bigs who will pound the boards... Jeff Green?

In all seriousness, what is Kenyon Martin up to these days?
Rather give him Big Baby's mins.
But couldn't agree more Riverside, I thought Cunningham deserved a chance.

he's been fine most of the year to me.
unless he really is whining about his role, i don't care about this thread.

Re: Please bench Jordan farmer
As bad as Farmar has played, he isn't even close to the biggest problem with the bench.
Jamal is the biggest problem with the bench. Yes, he gets his individual stats, but it's at the expense of everyone else on the court with him. Ball movement and defense die whenever he checks into the game.
The second biggest problem with the bench is simply how it's been constructed. Doc has completely ignored the need for length, athleticism, youth, and defense. Nobody on our bench drives to the basket. They chuck up jump shots and then don't play any defense. It's no wonder that they can't hold a lead.
The third biggest problem with the bench is Doc's rotations. The rest of the league long ago moved past the idea that merely being a veteran entitles you to playing time, but Doc is still stuck in the past. As a result, scrubs like Hedo and Big Baby get a ridiculously long leash. Meanwhile, everyone on the planet not named Doc Rivers realizes that Cunningham, Bullock, Wilcox and Udoh deserve more playing time since the vets aren't getting it done.
At worst, Farmar is the fourth biggest problem with the bench.

farmar has to go. I agree the rotations are bad but when hawes returns things will get better hopefully. jamal is not the problem. I think the coaching needs to improve.

coaching is fine. it's the front office decisions that put this team together that is the problem.
I hated signing Farmar from the get go, especially giving him anything but a one year vet's minimum. it was a bonehead move from the start. I don't get why we signed Udoh and not play him. I don't get why we drafted CJ who doubles what Reggie is, other than to think he was simply an asset for a trade in the making.

I agree the signing of farmar was not good and udoh I do not understand. he has never even played. however I have to disagree on the coaching at the end of games and putting an all reserve unit on the floor. how is that working out for you!!!

Re: Please bench Jordan farmer
Doc's comment about Cunningham is very telling. Either Farmar is out playing Cunningham in practice or Doc is sticking to not playing the young players.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Apparently we only had 1 practice in December. I hope our young guys are finding ways to stay fit and not accumulate too much rust by not playing bball.

why JJ? that boy runs around like a mad rabbit and if given a true starter's minutes he would wear out every opposing SG whether his shots go down or not. watch next time when JC is playing, the defenders don't have to move much even though Jamal is quick, he rarely runs the floor constantly. its more of 'stand around the perimeter and catch a pass, then look to shake of a defender for my shot' whereas JJ will run through screens over, and over, and over, and over again. if you were to measure the amount of distance JJ runs per game, and how much he makes his defenders to run with him, this guy will win the gold medal in basketball marathon. and he understands team defense concept better. i would even let him run the offense when CP3 isn't on the floor. JJ has run point before and did pretty well.

^^ I think his ability to tire out defenders is an underused asset we should try to incorporate more into our game.

We can always pickup Ray Allen for the vet min to replace him and still keep reigning 6th MAN JXover in that 2nd unit. JJ doesn't give us all the intangibles that JC can plus he's one of our best trade assets without having to break up the core group of BG/CP/DJ/JC.
