Dahntay Jones plays for them? Take a look into the future for you Hobe!!

So is Vonleh going to get some burn down there? Seems like they already have a lot of bigs playing for them.

I think that's the right move. If he gets game time and shows he can be productive, call him back. If not, more game time will help iron out the kinks and get him adjusted to the pace.

And as an aside, "Mad Ants" is awesome. I may need to buy a shirt from them.

Pargo is more important to the team than Al.

Pargo is important for his leadership. He can still do that from the IR.

Vonleh and Maxiell Question from a Celtics fan

Post#748 » by username_taken » Sun Jan 4, 2015 7:19 pm

Why on earth does Vonleh constantly get DNP-CDs while Jason freaking Maxiell has been getting upwards of 15-20 minutes the past few games? Why does Clifford choose not at all to develop Vonleh by giving him game time?

I'd suggest reading the thread with Vonleh's name in the title.

Cause our coach loves vets, loves Maxiel, and has no faith in Vonleh. Noah was hurt during camp so he is behind on learning the pro game, particularly on defense. Not playing and developing him is stupid IMO, but he is fighting for his job now, which means win every possible game, which means player development is out the window.

I despise this approach, along with his obsession with small ball lineups in Q4's which causes us to actually LOSE games. Noah is still a couple of years away from being a starter, but his skills and size will translate into a quality PF for years to follow.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Because in the world of NBA, apparently training camp invite Jason Maxiell is a better basketball player than top ten draft pick Noah Vonleh.

Our coach also prefer to play Jason Freaking Maxiell over our best defensive and rebounding big Bismack Biyombo. He's just obsessed with experience and spacing that he overlook poor defense and lack of physical ability.

Clifford: "um, well, you know, noah is a great kid, but he missed all of training camp and as a rookie he is so far behind. it would be unfair to expect him to play any minutes until he goes thru 2 years of practices with the team. i mean, vonleh asked me what a pick was the other day. we were in practice and i yelled 'ice the pick noah', and he just looked at me and said 'what is a pick coach?' so um, yeah, i think right now jason gives us the best chance to win. once noah has about 3 years of practice under his belt, then maybe we can start to work him into the rotation, 5 minutes at a time. look, he's just a kid. he has acne on his face. he still thinks girls are gross. he doesn't even know what a VCR looks like. when i told him the other day to 'review the game tape' he literally stared at a roll of medical tape given to him by the doctor. so, like i said, after he has had about 4 years of practice time, we can maybe sub him in the game if we need a rebound or something like that"

our offensive and defensive schemes are so advanced and dynamic that missing a week of practice 2 months ago has put Noah decades behind in development and understanding. The only chance he has of ever understanding NBA basketball is watching and deeply studying savvy intelligent vets like Jason Maxiell/Cody Zeller/Bismack Biyombo

Vonleh can't be any worse than that half a rookie season we had to endure of Zeller shooting under 40% and getting thrown around like a rag doll and that ain't stop Clifford from playing Zeller more than he should've.

Maybe Vonleh be stinking it up in practice which is possible or maybe Clifford is just brain dumb to seeing talent and how to use it. Based on the fact that Clifford rather play Maxiell over Biz, Marv over Zeller, and Neal over insert guard make me question Clifford and his irrational favoritism.

With Biyombo likely to be out at least 10 days we should be able to get a fair share of watching Vonleh in the rotation, around 10-15 minutes per game if not more

It's the only silver lining, really. Biz was playing his ass off.
