Wet Blanket Alert

Post#1 » by Cowboycolors » Mon Dec 29, 2014 12:41 am

Jerry has lots of decisions coming and while I don't want to be a spoil sport it does bear witness to look toward the future

Dez is going to get franchised IMHO
Murray ????? will they jettison him and draft a new RB ?

now the important Stuff

Bill Callahan -- Can Jerry pay him to stay he is a major reason the OL is this good this year

Rod Marinelli--- Can Jerry convince him to stay or will he leave for Tampa and Lovie Smith ?

Will McClay is being reported to be in the conversation for GM of the Jets. Major loss if he leaves

Lots of moving Parts

If Jerry want to keep the Band together he will have to pull out the checkbook for more than just the Players

Will get interesting when the Chips are all played

Detroit is a tough matchup for us. Calvin Johnson has been a major headache for the whole league, but a migraine for us. As far as the FAs, one interesting one has been wreaking havoc the last few weeks- Spencer. A month ago, I would have said no chance but now???

RomoToDez, Dallas will SMASH Detroit. I wouldnt worry about that game. There was ALMOST a HUGE break for Dallas week 2 when Aaron ROdgers got hurt today but I heard he came back later after being carted off.

It will be interesting to see what Dallas does with Murray. He's gonna want at least 10 million per year. Drafting in the 20's might be the PERFECT spot to land Gurley while being able to keep Dez and Free. But it would be tough to let go of the player I think is the MVP this season. To me its between Murray and JJ Watt and I'd lean towards Murray if I was voting. I still think Murray would be amazing on the Cardinals and turn them into a legit SB team next season... but they dont have the salary space.

If he wants 10 mil a year, I would definitely have to let him walk. I thought it was interesting today listening to Lynch talk about Murray hitting the holes slower than he was earlier in the year. Then of course Randall and Dunbar come in and look like blurs- Dunbars got called back of course but I do see some of what he is saying.

Thats why byes are HUGE in the playoff brother. If Dallas could have got the bye it doesnt only advance you to the 2nd round but Murray could rest, get massages, and treatments from tonight till Tuesday/Wednesday 10 days later. He is the MVP of the NFL to me EASILY and if Dallas is going to go deep he's going to have to keep dominating.

McCoys cap hit is 9.7, Charles is at 9.63, Forte is at 8, Peterson is at 15.4 so Im guessing he's gonna want 10 per. The dream scenario would be for him to leave and have AP come cheap. That seems hard though cause the Vikings owe him 47.4 million. Would he just give up 50 million just to play for his home team?

but RB contracts are going down since all those were done. RB's are becoming more & more replaceable.

Don't think he will get the type of contract from anyone personally. We may still lose him as he goes out & tries to get that type of contract, but I don't think he gets signed for that type of money. If he does it wont be here.

He is going to get that money after what he did this year. I agree 100% that teams dont value RBs like they used to. If James Stewart can get a 35 million dollar contract there are plenty of teams that will pony up HUGE cash for Demarco. Teams like AZ, Jacksonville, Colts I think would go after him. He's gonna get big money from someone unless he is INCREDIBLY loyal and doesnt care about money but those types are few and far between.

We will find out if Murray wants to remain a Cowboy soon. This is a very hard call to make for the Cowboys. Maybe Romo can restructure his contract to keep it all in tact. The problem is the price will keep going up every round we win in the playoffs and his impact.

Romo would love to restructure his contract. Hopefully we aren't dumb enough to do it though. We need to start getting some of his cap hit off the books or we will end up with $30m in dead money from him one of these years...

I know we have a ton of FAs of our own to resign, however I do worry about the WR position. Maybe its the lack of opportunities for Williams, but I just dont think he is ready to step in and be the go to guy if Dez ever went down. There are some big name guys that are FAs this off season. Im not wanting D. Thomas or R.Cobb, but I am curious to see how much Crabtree would cost.

lol....you boys will have 4 months to throw out your hot sports opinions soon enough with regards to the state of the Dallas Cowboys financial structure. Be a football fan for a week or two longer.

colors....Callahan is history but we got what we needed from him the last two seasons. Thanks Bill...good luck!

hopefully more than just a week or two. It pisses me off to be 12-4 and be the third seed, behind a team that we have beaten in Seattle and another that was beaten by Seattle.

We differ again...I think it's perfect. As we sit here today, I couldn't say we deserve a better seed than those two teams. Seems somewhat natural that you gotta go through GB and then the SB Champs to me. This team has been a blast to watch and playoff advancement of any kind should be the only benchmark now that we're in. Don't get me wrong...I want um to win but my expectations never was NFC championship game much less super bowl in my wildest dreams. This defense ain't ready to support to that magnitude. Not this year. Gotta walk before you run.

I didnt say I disagreed with it- it is what it is. We lost one more conference game than the other two and thats the way the tie breaker is set up. I just cant imagine another 12-4 team in history that would have to win in both GB and Seattle after winning a WC game in round one. Maybe it has happened but if I were to choose the hardest places to win, they would be 1 and 2. I just find it odd that a simple GB loss to Buffalo made this happen. That GB loss made Seattle number 1 instead of 3. Now Seattle should have a cake walk to the NFC championship. I know there are many ifs that could be played- it just seems like a real tough road after having such a great season. Basically we got the same prize that a 7 win Panther team is getting.

This team passed my best expectations by a bunch I had them 6-10 to 9-7 no better, shows what I know !

Beat Detroit and lets see what happens next

I let him know last week that they had to beat us by 60 for him to win. He said he would gladly donate the 100 in your mothers name. Seems like a nice fellow

I actually liked shark and skinsdad much more than many cowboy fans who frequent the hoop. It is after all about the football statements made over the years

Return to Dallas Cowboys
