NBA Trade RUMORS: Miami Heat Shopping Luol Deng

Image
The Miami Heat reportedly would be willing to part with Luol Deng.

The Miami Heat reportedly would be open to trade Luol Deng, for the right offer. Heat president Pat Riley reportedly is also interested in Andray Blatche, who's having a big season playing overseas in China.

Deng has been a steady contributor this season for Miami, and he shined on both ends of the court Christmas Day against Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James. If the right offer came along, Riley reportedly wouldn't be opposed to shipping out Deng for an asset to use in the future.

"The HEAT have been active... I was told Luol Deng could be had... that's one to watch," Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders wrote Monday.

Only way anyone would take that turd sandwhich. PG is such an important position that needs to be upgraded ASAP that i am not opposed to this. With Granger playing well and Ennis behind him, we actually have good SF depth. Luol has been a really nice player to have but if you want to win in the NBA and don't have a super point forward like Lebron then you need a real PG. Nobody has value in trade on this team other then Bird and Deng.

Then it would be a Tank and the start of the new lottery dynasty.

Of all the teams that might be willing to fork over a good amount for Deng at this juncture I have to imagine would be the Bulls. After the show Deng put on versus Lebron and of course Tibs love for him. It seems that team is just a Deng and Birdman away from sealing up the East and making a serious title run. The emergence of Mirotic allows the Bulls the flexibility to move Gibson for there final pieces. Miami gets a coveted big man in Gibson and a 1st round pick. Hinrich, Dunleavy, and Nazy Mo are just salary throw ins. We do right by Deng and Birdman sending them to the Bulls. Gibson gives us a nasty low post presence.

Miami Deals

SF Luol Deng
C Chris Anderson

for

PF Taj Gibson
PG Kirk Hinrich
SF Mike Dunleavy
C Nazr Mohammed
2015 (2) 1st round pick (Bulls own Kings top 10 protected and also have rights to swap with Cavs)

I don't like it. I think Deng is more valuable than we are giving him credit for. He will be a godsend in the playoffs, especially against Cleveland.

Gibson isn't a big man. He's 6'9

With the way this team is playing we need to think about the future instead of Deng being a possible first round playoff god send only to get knocked out in the next round. It's a tough pill to swallow but it's the truth. If Riley is serious about assets then the Bulls make a perfect trade partner. They are in win now mode and have the wiggle room to give us assets.

A big man IMO is someone who either plays PF or Center and plays physical and nasty in the low post. Who has a true 7 footer these days to give away? I guess you could reel off Brook Lopez for Deng and Bird but I would probably rather have Gibson and two 1st round picks.

You just described UD

Taj Gibson is not even a second tier player. He's nothing like worth Deng in a trade.

You keep laughing at the suggestions without looking at the bigger picture. The trade rumor mentioned getting back future assets in return. The trade proposal has those assets. I understand your love for the best Brit in the NBA but our team sucks and we need to start looking past this awful team we have this year.

Deng and Norris in exchange for Eric Bledsoe (age 25) is the logical trade. Then we can trade Birdman and Chalmers in exchange for Lance Stephenson. This will fix all of our problems. Stephenson (age 24) is more of a Point guard. And he would automatically be the Heat’s No. 2 in rebounds (6.8) and assists (4.8). When ranking the top 10 Shooting guards in the NBA heading into 2014-15, Lance is number 5. With this trade we get rid of Cole and Mario. And we get two top Point guards in Eric Bledsoe and Lance Stephenson (both of them are solid defenders). And in those moments that Wade can't play or is resting on the bench, Stephenson can take his place as a Shooting guard. We can go big with Whiteside and Bosh, or we can play small when Hassan isn't on the court. Another option is to use our Disabled Player Exception on Emeka Okafor, or we can wait until March 1. One more thing, let's not forget that McRoberts could be available to play for the playoffs.

Lance, Wade and Bledsoe playing together is not enough shooting in the starting 5. They're all too similar.

But I agree with direction, Bledsoe or Dragic (even Thomas + Sweetner like Green) for Deng would be a good move for us.

We get younger and we also address a huge hole at PG, Clearing up minutes for Ennis at SF, with Granger plugging the hole short term.

deng and cole for a future first would be ok with me.

What is pat's plan, he always rebuilds through free agency. I don't even think pat likes draft picks, maybe if he knew how to scout.

deng a free agent after this season(player option) hard to see anyone giving up something for him.

Clippers could use deng,

griz could use deng.

lee and koufos for deng and cole. thats my dream trade.

Lance Stephenson will be our Manu Ginobili. He won't be a starter. Although lately he hasn't been shooting well, he is a good three point shooter.
