Wake me up when De Gea is NT starter or plays well in the CL knockout stages.

Yann Sommer 8-)

Anyways, as much as people like to hate Neuer right now and even though he might be overvalued by some of those "top whatever" lists, he's still better then De Gea, who's been fantastic for United the last 1 1/2 seasons.

That is not a real question? I do think that is not even a discussion.

De Gea is awesome, but Neuer is on another level. He might not even be the best keeper in the EPL atm.

I don't know about Neuer being on another level. He's got elite defense and midfield at both club and country. He is better than De Gea, but I think Neuer is becoming a little overrated to be honest. Madrid surely didn't have trouble putting 4 past him last CL. I am not saying you can judge a keeper from one performance, just saying he is not the invincible keeper people are making out to be.

I'm glad you bring up these points. I agree completely. But still, I don't think any keeper is better at the moment.
Buffon is still elite but has declined a bit over the past year and a half or so. De Gea and Courtois are on their way but not quite yet.

Two set pieces and two counter attacks that was. There's not much a goalie can do there and if you bring that up as an argument people would need to talk about all those goals De Gea conceeded last season and that wouldn't make sense as well.

Neuer's just on another level right now, given his football skills and with the way he makes those saves. Of course he's playing on a dominant team but he's still saving them points, something I, for example, just witnessed when my team(Gladbach) played them and he made a couple of saves where I could just scream "WTF" or "keep you effin hands away man".

What is all this Neuer hype? Dude is playing for a team that is 100x better than all the teams that they face in the league.
Even if you put an average keeper as a goalie for Bayern, obviously they won't concede a lot due to they are being superior over other teams.
I'll take De Gea any day.

you guys can't be serious. Don't make me hate de gea now with all this overrating. He's becoming a great goalie yes but Neuer has done things consistently over a long period of time. Even when he was at Schalke he was key and made a CL semi final app.

There is legit not one reason to back up de gea>neuer , let alone "de gea any day".Did you not watch the world cup? the man played as a CB/goalie for crying out loud lol.

Neur has fallen off hard after the wc (which, in his case means he is still elite). Dude has made many mistskes this year.

You don't watch the Bundesliga or Bayern. This is a perfectly legitimate discussion at the moment.

I still say Neur, but it's close. Non-bundesliga watchers think he's still in wc/last season's form and its not true.

I agree. Neuer is still the best, but he's not in his own class. I think there are a few keepers right there with him

I don't think De Gea is any better than Lloris and Courtois, which isn't an insult as they're both elite goalkeepers too. If he continues his current insane form for the rest of the season and establishes some distance between himself and those two, then he might have a case for being in the same league as Neuer. But right now? No chance.

Neuer. I don't watch Bayern a lot but in the past Neuer has proved much better football player than De Gea. De Gea is a great shot stopper though.

I also agree De Gea isn't the best PL keeper. Courtois and Lloris are up there with him.

I don't think De Gea is even the clear cut #1 in the EPL. So no, he's not better than Neuer.

Are you kidding? Your post looks like a major troll attempt, at least Masimo-level. Neuer is stelar this season, he literally made not one mistake which ended in a goal this season.

Anyhow, the problem with your claim is, that Neuer conceded so less goals that we literally can check them one by one. Are you not aware that the Internet exists and you can check everything?

Bundesliga four goals conceded.

Champions League four goals conceded. One penalty, two goals against a Bayern team with 10 players.

Where do you see his mistakes? Haha that are literally only seven conceded goals in two tournaments.

And here I just randomly picked a couple of highlights from reddit's game threads.

Saves I:

Saves II:

Sweeper Keeper II:

...

And than I got bored and stopped, but you will find a lot more just for this season.

And for sure, he benefits from Bayern's defense, but on the other hand Bayern is playing a ridiculous high (defensive) line. For example take a look at this picture from a corner:

Spoiler:

To put your trolling into perspective: At the World cup he had a shot-stopping rate of 85%. In the current campaign he has 91% of shoots saved. Can you tell me what cliff you mean? Neither eye-test not statistics support your wrong claim.

And if people say, that Neuer is overrated I honestly do think that they mean he is annoying. Just because there is so much talk about him.

But we are witnessing one of the best goalies ever.

These must really be opinions you have for yourself, sorry.
He probably has played even better than at the WC.

why are you trying to be the definition of butthurt? Dude get a life. You don't have to mention about me all the time.

Anyway, whenever I see Neuer or someone is talking about him, this gif comes to my mind.

Don't know, I always have these kind of pictures in my head whenever people talk of Ronaldo. :P

Anyways, I watched a couple United games this season and I'm not sure why people really discuss De Gea being better then Neuer.
Of course that United defense sucks, but De Gea doesn't strike me as someone who really gets in their faces and tells them to get their stuff together and he also has games where he looks kinda lost as soon as there are some cross ins flying in.

Still, De Gea's on his way up and should be Spain's #1 in the future.
