The difference in accountability between perimeter players and bigs is a HUGE concern of mine.

Doesn't matter what the perimeter guys do, they'll get opportunities. But a few mistakes and Jonas gets ignored or gets benched. It's really ridiculous, and other teams' commentators are starting to catch on and wonder what the hell is happening. Cavs/Bulls/Blazers commentating crews have all brought it up.

I don't mind if JV is playing like **** and gets benched. That's 100% warranted. It's the fact that other players can play like ****, and don't see ANY consequences. Why? I can't see any reason aside from personal trust and habit. It's this sort of lack of adaptability that loses close games, when strategy and lineups need to be on point to maximize effectiveness.

YOU ARE CLUELESS

Anyhow, the Raps got enough ref love tonight for being on the road. That out of bounds with Blake, that goaltend (which was really close, and honestly I don't think it even was one properly), and mobbing Freeland and somehow not picking up a foul. They just couldn't hit a shot to save their lives, that's why they lost. They played worse down the stretch, plain and simple.

It's more like a 35-40% chance depending on who is taking the shot and how much of a quality look you can get. I'll take those odds on the road over OT every single time if given the chance especially against a team that good. And it's not like you still can't get a rebound put back off a miss anyway.

Not really. You have to look at clutch stats and if you are taking averages then 3 point %ages at that point in the game are less than 15%.

It's not as though this is just a normal play in the game, the game winning 3 point shot is at a much lower clip.

If Casey benched guards who are playing like sh*t, then Raps would have to play 3rd-4th quarters with 5 bigs on court because all the guards would've been benched by that time.

Trashquez ruined us in the 4th. Not really his fault he's trash but more so casey for having a serious crush on him. Where was JJ? Maybe JJ lit a blunt up in the 3rd and got punished

I knew the raptors were going to lose going into the 4th unless they simply got hot. Refs dont respect us, how many times was JV shoved in this game and doesn't get the call? and Aldridge can just dip his shoulder right into the defender pushing the defender away and the foul is on us. . Amir got called for so many moving screens that you can literally call on anybody at any point during the game. It bothers me because i feel like we outplayed the blazers for 40 minutes but since the game was still in reach the calls started going against us and the game got much tighter. How many games of our 8 losses did we seriously have a chance to win it and the refs seem to decide the game. No way will the raptors win in the playoffs unless we have stars who demand that respect from the refs.

Loved when Leo said that Triano told him he had Demar,Amir and JJ in the starting lineup in 2011, shut the hell up Jay don't be trying to take credit for anything, you're the worst coach in Raptors history.

Don't get me started on that bull too.

He walked away, didn't make a face, didn't say anything, simply batted the air with his hand and he gets tech'd up by the off-side official who didn't make the call, nor was he involved in the play.

What **** was that nonsense?

How on earth is that a technical at any level of basketball.
What was JV supposed to do, grovel and thank the ref?

Matthews did the same thing I think in the 1st or 2nd... No call.

Guys, go to bed. We are going to kill ourselves over this ****. 82 games, we are still 24-8, winning without DD. Once he gets back, once we get through this road trip and come back home, its all good again.

Was wondering exactly the same thing. But you forgot the most annoying player in bustnani

Why is it that the raps always end up with at least one shi*** player who absolutely PISSES you off when they play. Alan anderson, john lucas, and now Greivis no swag Vasquez.

Taking into account the level of defense being played at that point in the game, sure, it's lower than normal. But whether it's a 1/3 or or a 1/6 chance, I'll still take a shot at outright victory there (with a chance for a tie on the boards as well) over giving Portland another shot in regulation to win and letting them get to overtime at worst (where they most certainly have the advantage at home). They could have ended it then with an opportunity that they weren't likely to get again.

They do. It just has to be Blazers' ball. Otherwise, no clear path even if everyone is on the baseline.

What's with people saying Amir's basket was bad and they would rather have taken a three? That's pretty stupid, the shot went in and there is very much no guarantee of hitting a three at all, especially with portlands perimeter defence. Shots in the paint versus threes have much higher percentages, and a chance to win in overtime > no chance to win at all. Oh, and we were shooting 18% from deep... keep your stupid opinions to yourself, please. Hindsight is 20/20, regretting Amir's shot when he made it is blasphemous.

Can't blame the refs. Raptors blew a sizable lead. We deserved this loss.

We miss Demar late in games to draw fouls. Great effort by the team though. Tough to close out against a team like the blazers

Even when we were up in the fourth I knew we were gonna lose when Casey let Tyler stay out there. The only thing he is good for is getting the other team in the penalty quicker.

They were playing Val one on one and no double coming and Casey decides to match the Blazers with smallball. Casey must not have any faith in his system because he always matches the other team instead of forcing them to match us.

Patterson is gonna have to get his shot off quicker. He can't be in the game that long and not take any 3s.

It didn't have to go to OT. The Raptors struggled in the 4th when Casey went pure offense and went small with the 3 guard lineup with Pat and Amir, and benched James Johnson and Jonas. Raptors lost their defense and took out 2 guys who were having good games and left in struggling guys. The small ball killed the Raptors. Struggling offensive guys can't score or defend. Didn't help when Lowry went hero mode and couldn't get anything at the rim. Raptors stick with the starting lineup and maybe they wouldve held on.
