Wow!

Top. Executive. Available. Would love to see him re-united with everybody but he'll get a way better offer in terms of power elsewhere (Tampa Bay?). He'd be the first or second guy, available or unavailable, I'd look at in running a team. It's my dream to pair him with Giants VP of Player Evaluation Marc Ross.

Kawakami said gamble and Baalke were close but gamble would have attractive options.

It's not a matter if the team will rehire him but if he wants to be rehired.

He left to be closer to home in Philly in the first place so my guess is he'll look to for jobs that will keep him as close to home as possible.

Though I'm sure if nothing opens up to his liking he would come back to the 9ers.

I'd let him pick his position (in work and in title). I'd tell him to name his salary (within reason for the most part). I'd also feel comfortable giving him full authority for everything football related - business and on field matters - and then I'd tell him to get to work.

Ok, I might be acting a little bit out of line there but I absolutely love that guy as a football executive and I've had a bad feeling for a couple years now that Baalke's ceiling may have been reached and I can't help but feel like it's going to be very difficult to break through the window with him given his stubborness if the team even gets its talent level back up to where it was a while back.

Believe it or not but many NFL men have found out they were let go by the same welcoming.

Turns out there was a huge power struggle with Kelly and Roseman. So Roseman fired Gamble because he was Kelly's guy.

Wow if true. Chip Kelly is one guy I'd love to have as a head coach.

All the reports made it seem like Kelly was going to be leaving the Eagles, but it turns out that he got promoted instead.

Return to San Francisco 49ers
