Asik
Towns
Melo
Butler
Collison

With tim jr, shump, Calderon, early, thanasis off the bench is pretty solid.

i'd rather run with cole at this point than asik. talk about inept offensively.

and why don't we think towns can play the 5?

Asik is a lot better defensively, I think (besides in space). If his asking price is too high, you start Cole and spend Asik's money elsewhere.

Towns definitely can play the 5, but I think he'd be better at the 4 - like LMA.

You almost HAVE to take #1 overall if you have that pick

No thank you.

He'd be great with the #3 or #4 pick though.

Breezy, you're one of my favorite posters and we agree on A LOT, but you wouldn't consider him with the 1st? Really? :o

Has anyone else noticed how Okafor plays defense in college how they play in the pros - 3 second violations, touching players as the cross paint, not camping, etc? I've seen some of his games (not every one, but a good bunch) and it's something I've seen pretty consistently. Thought that was pretty interesting.

Okafor scoring but I don't think he can score that easily in the nba. He's just walking around his defender for the layup lol. Not gonna happen in the nba

I think he can play the 5 no problem I was just going along with a dream scenario.

That was just me being a d*ckhead I won't even front

I've always said despite all my criticisms with Okafor if we get the #1, after the combine he's still projected as BPA, you take him & run. Kid is a beast I just want my boy Towns to get more love

towns or death

Anytime you have that much passing in a big man's high lights you got a winner. Pg don't have that many assists in a highlight.

so long as knicks land a top 3 they should be in good shape moving forward.

okafor is a pretty great passer too.

Yeah don't sleep on Okafor's passing, that part of his game is what probably impresses me the most. I can see why he gets Duncan comparisons. He has the patience and court vision to read the defense to wait for the double then hit the open man. He would be such a perfect fit in the triangle. As for KAT, I agree that a big man with his passing ability and court vision is going to go far in the league. It's hard for me to believe that people actually think he is going to be a bust, it's just very hard for me to see, he really doesn't have any weaknesses except experience and strength which are two of the easiest things to correct. I just don't understand why some of you have him as an afterthought after Okafor and Mudiay. I would gladly take him and be set at PF/C for the next 15 years.

Mudiay should not be in the same discussion as Okafor and Towns.

Also, Okafor has shown good awareness passing out of doubles, but Towns passing is on a different level.

Most sites are projecting Mudiay as likely to be picked second by the Knicks.

I know. I've seen some mocks that have him #1.

Its ridiculous. Towns and Okafor are clearly better prospects IMO.

Clearly? No, no they're not.

Towns, Okafor & Mudiay are all interchangeable.

Yes, clearly.

He's got real good tools, but i don't see the elite athleticism. He's not overly skilled. Questionable decision maker.

He'll be a top 5 pick, but he shouldnt be discussed for the top pick.

For what we need as a team Towns or Okafor are better but some of the scouts are equating Mudiay with PG's like Wall, Lowry and Curry that can change a franchise. We'll see...

The separation between Okafor and Towns' passing is nowhere NEAR as great as the difference between their scoring prowess.

I'm not that high on him.

But yes, we'll see. We have to wait until the Summer League to get a glimpse of him.

At this moment, you're right. Okafor is obviously more polished than Towns.

Its Towns offensive versatility/potential that keeps him so high on the draft boards. He's shown flashes of running hooks, mid-range jumpers, hit a high amount of 3 pointers in HS( 119), currently 1-4, and has shown good fluidity in the open floor.

The question is - Can he can put all of that together? If he does, then he can end up becoming a bigger offensive threat than Okafor in the future.

No not clearly, and your perception is your perception.

Questionable decision maker is flat out wrong, he's a pure PG in a SG's body. Has shown again and again he can make the right effective pass while also driving down the lane & finishing at the rack. This is a 18 year old mind you, with the demeanor of somebody who wants to get better. Not to mention he's arguably more NBA ready than both Towns & Okafor.

He IS a top pick, he is a franchise PG & he will be picked within the first three picks.

Since we have limited info, i'm forced to bring up things such as : He ranked #1 in the EYBL in turnovers. In China, he turned the ball over 3.10 times. In that garbage league.

I really don't know anyone that will agree with you on this : "Not to mention he's arguably more NBA ready than both Towns & Okafor."

At best, he'll be a middle of the pack PG. I don't see someone who'll be noticed as one of the elites.
