1) Draft a franchise player (I spoke to God about this just last night)
2) Fire Rich Cho
3) Pray Al Jefferson opts out (I plan to speak to God about this soon)

1.) fire Rich Cho. Now I see why he got fired from Portland
2.) Have a fire sale. Everybody but Vonleh should go.
3. Don't draft a safe player or a really raw player unless we get a new scouting team.
4.) Hire a coach who isn't in love with veterans who suck.

Re: January 1st 2015. Your New Year's Resolution for Hornets?
its clear this season is a waste in terms of preseason expectations. that doesnt mean the season has to be a complete disappointment.
1. so what i really want for 2015 is for at least one of the young guys (kemba, mkg, biz, zeller, vonleh, pj) to show some real, noticeable improvement. i am not talking about the type of improvement that requires someone to dig deep into nba.stats.com to point out - such as biyombo's opponent fg% at the rim, or mkg's increased fg% from 15 feet or kemba's magical decembers. i am talking about the type of improvement that is undeniable, the type that non-hornets fans on twitter will talk about, the type that when you eyeball stats it jumps out at you.
i just want one of these 5 guys to erase all doubts about their future in the form of on-court production. is it too much to ask that one of our past 5 1st round picks show some noticeable improvement for once? as others were talking about yesterday, you probably have to go all the way back to gerald wallace to find a young player who had a noticeable improvement at a bobcat.
2. i would also like the front-office to give up on the playoff push fairly soon or that the very least, all agree that any late push for the playoffs will not come at the expense of trading one of mkg, zeller, vonleh, pj or a future 1st, unless it brings back a non-brainer type deal in return.
3. i want hendo to opt out of his deal this summer. its time for hendo to have a change of scenery. he can definitely be a rotational player on a playoff team and for a guy who has spent his entire career on a bad team, its time he try to land on a team that can play some meaningful hoops in may/june. i dont think he will get 6 mil per in a new deal, but he should at least be able to land a reasonable multi-year contract that isnt too much off of the 6 mil he'd give up. i could see a playoff team giving him a 3 year, 12 mil deal.
4. i want jefferson to opt in to his deal this summer. i fear that if he opts out it will be because he and the team are on the same page as far as him returning on a similar deal for more years. i can live with one more season of jefferson so long as we dont continue to try and build an entire team around him. hopefully by the end of his 3rd year it will be painfully obvious to the front-office that jefferson isnt a franchise cornerstone for a playoff team and no new deal will be struck. then i hope jefferson stops chasing money on bad teams and finally signs a cheaper deal with a playoff team, one that will use him as a scoring big man off the bench, which is ideally what he is suited for at this stage or at the very least next to a defensive power forward on a deep roster of bigs, where he only has to play 25-28 minutes a night and can be subbed out at the end of games if needed.
5. and of course, it would be nice to have some luck in the lottery this summer.

Basically agree with everything but number 4. If Jefferson opts out I pray its to sign with another team. Its not even a jab at Al. I think he is a great, and very, very underrated player. When he is healthy watching him work in the post is a sight to see. But he doesn't mesh well with this roster. To be honest I don't know what meshes well with this roster. This roster is so incredibly pathetic as far as being constructed I don't even know if Kevin Durant could fit well here. Thats slight sarcasm and slight seriousness.

Re: January 1st 2015. Your New Year's Resolution for Hornets?
1. I want Lance gone. I really don’t care how. I see the on the court chemistry with Biz. I understand that this team could use more talent. I don’t really care. The Horents could trade Lance for a bag of chips and I would be OK with that.
2. I want this team to really work on developing the young guys. The Spurs seem to always find a way to play their young guys. Cliff has no excuse to not do the same. I’m with fatlever in that in return I want to see one or more of the young guys develop.
3. I want this team transformed by the start of next year. I don’t really care if that’s via development of existing guys, draft, trade, free agents, or any combo of the above, but I want to see a team that has real 3 point shooting threats, moves the ball, and plays on both ends of the court.

My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

dont get me wrong, i would be happy to see jefferson opt out and sign elsewhere this summer. however, i view him opting in as the lesser of two evils when compared with the real possibility of us inking him to a new 4 year deal.
absolute best case other than trading him for an awesome package of picks and youngsters
- jefferson opts out
- we make a public push to sign him to a new long-term deal, knowing that jefferson has made his mind up to leave for a playoff team
- jefferson decides to sign with a contender for less money to chase a ring while saying tons of great things about charlotte and how he really wanted to stay but the lure of playing for the thunder (or spurs or cavs etc) was too hard to resist.
we save face by looking like a team that is willing to pay free agents while at the same time getting out from under jefferson's contract. the players cant blame management for failing to keep jefferson and we get a ton of cap space to go after a better fit or to save for 2016.

marc gasol (keep on dream fats)?, jimmy butler? greg monroe? klay thompson? goran dragic? kawhi leonard? paul milsap? kevin love (haha)? lamarcus aldridge (seriously fats, just stop)? brook lopez? roy hibbert? dendre jordan? thad young?
more realistically,
gerald green or danny green on decent deal.
or just save it, facilitate trades, wait for 2016.
