No. Philly doesnt have enough to trade up to the #1 pick in the draft. The QB isnt their issue anyway. The Eagles have a top 5 offense, the best special teams in the NFL and a good front 7. THe problem is they probably have the worst secondary in the NFL.

I know youre just trolling and trying to get under my skin but there is no way in hell Dallas is head and shoulder better then Philly. If you remember our back up QB shredded Dallas. THen our backup brought us back from 21 to ) and almost beat Dallas a 2nd time. I give Romo all the credit in the world for driving back down and taking the lead but what did Philly in was the 2 turn overs in the 4th. Its absolutely amazing Philly did as well as they did while leading the NFL in turn overs. But if Foles was playing the last 8 games and not our backup theres a chance that Philly is in the playoffs. Philly had four 2nd team all pros which is excellent. THey have a ton of talent but unfortunately they are a flawed team because as good as they are in several aspects, their secondary is very very bad. If you think Philly wont be back next year while also having a lot of cap space to bring in players to fix their secondary then you are lying to yourself. Four 2nd team all pros means they have several excellent players with another 2 receiving votes too.

But again, when Philly smashed Dallas I said they neither team can win a SB because neither has a playoff ready D. THe cupboard is absolutely empty on the defensive side of the ball for Dallas. But they do have a SB ready offense with a ton of incredible players on that side of the ball. Its going to be hard for Dallas to stay on top with the 1st place schedule and Philly being a good team.

Really, playing that injury game with everyone now. Foles would not have made a difference. Your crying to the wrong choir on this one. I'd be willing to bet we would have been in the playoffs the past 3 years if we didn't have the mash unit of injuries if I go with your reasoning. As far as this year goes, we are head and shoulders better than the Egals. You just don't know it yet, lol.

Absolutely empty? Boy, I have to disagree with that. Assuming they bring back the key pieces we go into next year with Sean Lee, McClain and Hitchens at LB. I can't see too many 4-3 LB groups being better and I expect either Durant or Carter as a #4 that can back up every spot if needed. Scandrick is a borderline Pro Bowl type player IMO. Crawford's play has made Melton obsolete at the 3 tech and is only getting better. 4 or 5 other DL have shown themselves to be very valuable players in exactly what Marinelli wants to do, a rotation of DL. Lawrence may or may not be worthy as a top pass rusher, but with his injuries as a first year player it's understandable to expect a lot of improvement next year. I'm certain they will continue to upgrade the defense through the draft and maybe FA too and hopefully improve the pass rush. So, while we are definitely not a top defense in this league, saying the cupboard is absolutely empty is way off base. We were middle of the pack statistically this year and I think we have the potential to be even better next year.

Excellent post Jarntt. Thats how you defend a point. All of us our just giving our opinions on here and only a few can create a structured argument that makes sense. Dallas did have a middle of the pack D. I think it has to do with a lot of things. The D coaching was excellent this year and they played hard and organized even without any top tier talent. Next, Jason Garret playing to keep the D off the field was tremendous... and lastly (my MVP) Demarco Murray is not only the MVP of the league but the MVP of the Cowboys D. You proved in your post that Dallas has many players that arent complete jokes like (Bradley Fletcher, Nate Allen) but there isnt one stud. Not one game changer. Not one player the opposing team has to game plan for. Thats why scrubs like Mark Sanchez can cut threw it like a hot knife on butter. Now next year will be different cause if Lee can stay on the field he will be a massive addition. I think he is the best defensive player in the NFC East. Dallas has been drafting some stars lately and need to on the other side of the ball. I dont know if Dallas can improve via FA because all your FA Bruce Carter, Doug Free, Rolando McClain, Parnell, Beasely, Lance Dunbar, Anthony Spencer, Dez Bryant, Demarco Murray. Its going to be hard to keep them and add players. I dont know what the COwboys cap space is like because these cap websites dont factor in the roll over monies and I also dont know how much the cap will increase this year (reportedly a lot). The PERFECT FA for Dallas IMO would be Suh. He is a star and a polarizing player. Dallas is the most loved and most hated team in the NFL. If Suh went to the Cowboys it definitely would be exciting for the people who love Dallas and for the people who hate them too. We shall see.
