Is CJ Wilcox out? This would be the perfect game for him to get some minutes/experience.

He's healthy, but only 13 players can be active.

I can actually watch this game since we're playing the 6ers. It will be good to see us live in action :)

Does that mean that he won't get any minutes all year unless we get hit by injuries?

Penn State just lost to Rutgers in Big10 hoops. I need a little moral boost from our Clippers

Basketball's Version of Second Assist

Post#11 » by Ranma » Sun Jan 4, 2015 3:48 am

Paul seems to be really racking up those passes that lead to assists in funneling passes to Blake, who then passes off to open shooters. If this were hockey, CP would be leading the league in assists hands down as those types of passes would actually be counted as assists. He's like Griffin's training wheels toward developing into that LeBron-eque player Milph keep referencing.

Blake passing instead of attacking the rim is making CP's numbers look as though he is having a poor year in terms of assists. Team's with great ball movement is at the expense of a high assist point guard. One of my main arguments for staggering Blake and CP's minutes is that Blake can play point forward with the bench/starters. There will be less importance on having a playmaking PG. Maybe blake is not ready but it would be nice to see.

Paul leads the league in hockey assists with 3 per game.

I'm all for an old-school Kings and current Spurs offense where passes are consistently coming from everyone and for Blake developing into the LeBron-hybrid type of player, but he definitely needs to attack the basket more. His individual player development should not come at the expense of the team's.

Nice to know the stats back up the eye test. He's leading that category by a wide margin (50%) as his next closest competitors are at 1.9 secondary dimes per game. Thanks, mkwest.
