Agreed. If not IT, then give him all of Gerald Green's minutes. Less Green = more passing, less chucking anyway

Are you serious? Goodwin is worse than Green on defense.

I dont think anyone can really say if he is or isnt, as he has only played a total of 77 minutes this season (those 1 & 2 minutes a game add up). Also factor in that 90% of his playing time has been garbage minutes where we were blowing the other team out (or getting blown out).

No one can really compare Goodwin & Greens defense.

100% agreed

Garbage time and 2/3 minute span court time is not a good indicator for +/-

You guys crack me up. All JV had to do was take two small steps forward, get set, and it was an easy charge to take. Now if Archie knew JV would be very concerned with a beast like Randolph, and that JV was too tired to do anything, then I would say it was not only a great dunk, but a smart decision. But I highly doubt that is what happened.

jeebus... it was a dunk, on a meaningless play, over a player who could give a s**t. Good excitement, but nothing more than that.

Keep moving folks, nothing to see here.

i didn't see the game, but i did see the dunk, it was cool how Archie was so nonchalant about it after words, like EJ told him before, "Act like you been there young man" contrast that with last season when he would yell and cheer everytime he scored a point last year

I don't think Archie should get the minutes of IT or GG but I do think he should have more. Mainly for the fact when he gets the ball the goes straight to the basket with speed and will either score or get a foul most of the time.

Could help with getting other teams big men int foul trouble early in games.....

You forgot to add,"or get his shot blocked, shoot a bad shot under the basket that has zero chance to go in, or cause an offensive foul."

He is young, and is getting better, and that is great.

I still think his best chance to get good minutes is to establish himself as a defensive stopper. If he can do that, he can be a guy we go to when there are multiple guards going off on us.

I think archie gets his chance next year, once Gerald is gone, then the backup SG position is his to lose

It would be great if he could improve enough to edge out Green this season, and before the trade deadline.

If it were me, I would ask Bledsoe and Tucker to take Goodwin and Warren ,respectfully, under their tutelage. That would only leave Len with a needed mentor. What would be awesome is if PJ's defense and intensity rubbed off on TJ, and TJ's offense rubbed off on PJ.

He passed the eye test very well last season. He stopped penetration really well, due to his large wingspan and lateral quickness.

As Kerrsed said, using Goodwin's +/- to judge his defence is like using Tyler Ennis' PER36 stats to judge his abilities.

His athleticism is what's key in his defense and offense.

I honestly think if he got playing time, he will be drawing a TON of FTs because its hard to stop him at the rim without fouling him. He's too quick and athletic.

He's a guy that could get 5-7 pts a night just off FTs.

That's complete BS. He was awful last year defensively. Archie has a tremendous upside on the defensive end because he's long, athletic and always plays hard. But he's positioning and understanding of team defense needs a lot of work before we can call him even an average defender.
