Let's say we were willing to attached our 2nd round pick to a trade in order to dump JR, and let's say that would be enough for some team to bite. Obviously, we would rather have that early 2nd rounder than Shumpert, who is not in our plans.
If JR opted in and clogged up our space next year, that could have been really bad.
