I wish the Suns would have traded a 2nd rd pick for Dalembert. He's not bad defensively. Better than Plumlee and Randolph.

I wonder if NY has something bigger brewing.....

They are waiving Dalembert, then they trade Smith/Shumpert for 3 guys that they are planning on waiving right away, so thats 4 guys dropped off of their roster in a day.

Makes me think that they might be trading Melo and getting back multiple players/assets in return, so they have to make some room.

I agree. They have to have something in the works. That is dumping Smith, Dalembert and Shumpert for nothing. They must want to take on some players

Melo is basically ready to shut it down and might need surgery to his knee. No way anybody is taking that albatross of a contract right now. Thank you for introducing me to Boxxy by the way.

If you dig a little deeper it looks like Amare Stoudemire and his expiring contract is what the Knicks are going to be dangling.

The melo trade is the only option they have. BUT he may get shut down for the year.

Amare isn't an attractive trade asset with his expiring deal because even at the midway point of the season the acquiring team would have to pay close to 12 million left on the deal. I think he was going to be paid something like 23 million for the year.

The problem is expirings aren't as attractive as they use to be. With the cap likely increasing its just not attractive anymore. Teams are less likely to give up draft picks anymore. Draft picks are the most attractive asset in today's NBA.

If Melo was healthy i can see something but who in there right mind is going to give up 3-4 players for someone who might not make it through the rest of the year? Stoudamire's expiring deal on the other hand may interest a team looking to shed some salaries with assets attached.

Also happy to hear Sanders finally admit to not wanting to play basketball. He's sucked since he got that huge contract, and I think there was some talk last year within the Bucks that someone said players should be playing up to their salary (referring to Sanders.
Wondering why the Celtics traded for Wright when they aren't even playing him at all. They got plenty of big guys already, and Wright is expiring, so they gotta be trading him before the deadline I imagine.

Jason Kidd told WTMJ's Sports Central he expects Larry Sanders will return soon, maybe Tuesday. Sanders has been out for personal reasons.
