A LOT of NFL personnel people don't think it's a bad idea and he's come close to getting his shot twice. With the right structure Roman could be very good but I question who he'd get around him for assistants.

Wouldn't it be weird if the 49ers came out of this coaching FA seeing four or more of their very own get HC'ing/Coordinating gigs?

He is the sort of guy who I think could be a better HC than OC, but it was hard not to seriously question his actual playcalling this year.

I'm good with that. I want to see more of Roman ALMOST anywhere else before I jump off the Greg Roman hype train. Just not at the expense of the 49ers of course. I might be one of the only FANS still willing to ride near the front of that one.

Greg Roman - C - 49ers

The Rams have been granted permission to interview Greg Roman for their offensive coordinator job.

Roman has served as the 49ers' play-caller the last four seasons. He's also been connected to Jacksonville's OC job and is scheduled to interview for the Bills' head-coaching vacancy. Roman is the first candidate linked to the Rams since losing Brian Schottenheimer earlier this week.

The fact the Niners brass is allowing Roman to interview for the same coaching position in their division speaks volumes to me on what they think about his ability. They don't view him as any kind of threat in terms of potentially facing him twice per year.

He could very well be joining Rex Ryan in Buffalo per Matt Maiocco.

I've been critical of Roman but I don't think the mess of the offense was all his fault.

It was the system Harbaugh wanted so I will say I'm curious to see what Roman will do when he's free to do what he wants.

And it's obvious why Rex is interested in Roman since he wants a guy that excels at running the ball so they can do what the Jets did when they got to two AFC championship games.

Since the Bills still have issues at quarterback, Roman is going to have to rely plenty on the run next season.
