Where from? Seems to be 6 for the entire season(Dallas included), but I don't know how to find it outside of mining from PBP. http://hoopsmanifesto.com/articles/nba-stats/nba-charges-drawn-total-201415.html

I think I read about the 9 charges as a Celtic this season stat somewhere, might have been a Grande or Jay King tweet. It was immediately after his first game as a Mav when he got the 4 and somebody compared it to the amount he had as a Celtic this season. I'll see if I can find it. He certainly had more than 0 charges taken as a Celtic this season....

***EDIT***

Here it is: Jay King retweeted this

Offensive fouls drawn do not equal charges, but he pretty much settled any sort of question marks around his defensive effort with that media response today.

I thought he was trolling the "media" with that statement.

"I haven't played defense in a couple of years"....

It's funny to see Rondo apologists fall all over themselves to explain this.
"Danny Ainge needs to shut the **** up and manage his own team. He was the biggest whiner when he was playing, and I know that because I coached against him."

I'm pissed to read that. It's insulting that us fans pay and go to the games and for him to admit he was only half trying.

Insane. If I were going to the game tonight, I'd boo him after that statement. That's pathetic.

Not want I want to hear from our Ex-Captain. You're the leader of the locker room. Your actions will resonate and affect others. With that being said, we all suspected this was happening at some point, and I fear that this may be the case with some of our current members of this team.

Guys, he didn't play D. He was lazy and moody. You were blind if you didn't see it

Trolled the media and wrote the headline for a million anti-Rondo hatchet jobs.

Roles change. Went from a team with the premier on-ball PG defender to a team with a giant hole when it comes to defending the PG. So now he's been asked to pick up greater defensive responsibilities, something he's capable of doing provided he's not asked to do as much on offense (and he's not...in Dallas). On the Cs of last 2 years, with Avery and coming off a knee injury, being asked to carry the offense and get out in transition, he just wasn't expected to do much heavy lifting on D. He could "hide" off the ball. It made sense, given the context. Doesn't mean he wasn't trying, just that he was given lesser defensive assignments.

The funny part is that Rondo has said this before...when he was here...and Ainge has noted the same as well, noted it was part of their "plan", kind of like when the wife does all the dishes because her husband takes out the garbage and shovels the snow. Rondo blurted it out nakedly like he is apt to do, but roles change when you change teams and now he's the best PG defender on his team so yeah he's gotta to play defense because nobody else can.

The best part of the Rondo trade was no more Rondo debates....or at least that's what I promised myself.

I thought it was pretty obvious to me he was trolling. He had a half smirk on his face.

Seeing the fuller version of the quote, it sounds like he is specifically talking about playing defense at the PG position. I think it's a stretch to think he just admitted to the media that he was dogging it for multiple seasons. Rondo is way too reserved and calculating with his media presentation for that. Just reading it, I don't even think he was trolling, I think he just spoke directly and turned a phrase poorly.

That is not to say he did not dog it or play disinterestedly or less than optimally at times or etc. during the past two or three years. This occasion however seems more like an excuse to rev up the outrage machine than anything substantive.

I didn't see any video, but that's definitely in Rondo's wheelhouse.

I miss my favourite player. Haven't watched a second of basketball since he was traded.

I thought I read somewhere around here that he was stealing rebounds from his teammates and those were meaningless?

Wonder what is the team's transition points now compared to when Rondo was here?

Not meaningless, just overrated. The great benefit for a guard rebounder is to self ignite fastbreak. He is great at that. But, he doesn't replace a poor rebounding 4 and 5.

Guard rebounding in general is hit or miss.

This. This season was about giving Rondo a little test - to see if he had the stuff to deal with adversity and play good ball in bad circumstances. He did not. He pulled a Rasheed Wallace and spit on the Celtics. He mailed in his defense - and tried to maximize fun 'alternative' stats - while not giving a **** about winning or scoring points when the team needed it.

What's more amusing is how his fans are falling all over themselves defending Rondo even though he didn't give a **** about his Celtic team or its fans. That's unconditional love for ya. They don't see it when the guy plays like ****. They don't see it when he disrespects the franchise. They didn't even see the trade coming when we drafted Smart. Well. like that comedian says - you can't fix stupid.

Making stuff up and repeating it over and over again doesn't mean it will eventually become the truth.

Those numbers actually paint his rebounding value to this team as quite underrated considering it's the opposing team that is making up the split on those boards over his former teammates.

Funny. Cause the Rondo I know couldn't even manage 10ppg and shot 32% from the line. It's in plain black text. You are in denial - he is gone - change your avatar and move on.
