Deng who at 6'9 provides an all around game and veteran leadership to your starting lineup that I can only assume from the numbers that Tucker is not providing. Deng also gives you one of the best all around defenders in the game. Does Tucker provide lock down defense to mask him only scoring 8 points per game? Put Deng as the starting SF on your squad and he is going to easily double Tucker's scoring output and be able to guard the other teams best wing player.

Lock down defense and leadership is EXACTLY what Tucker provides for the Suns. He's also significantly better 3-point shooter and rebounder (the Suns biggest weakness) than Deng. The Suns don't need more scoring from our small forwards (unless we can add a star wing). The Suns have a top-5 offense in the league and Deng scoring 5 more points than Tucker means very little for us. Tucker doesn't demand touches and doesn't take the ball from our guards hands.

Panda Friend 51 wrote:Thomas and Tucker both carry long term deals that you can get off your books to make a grand splash in free agency in the next two years.

Getting IT and Tucker off the books isn't really a positive for the Suns as they both provide very good value for money. They are great assets for this team. Cole and Williams are just dead weight. They're not needed nor wanted here. Oh, nobody in Phoenix wants to have anything to do with Rich Paul.

What a baffling 3 team trade.

OKC wins. It's a super low risk, high reward situation. They give up nothing to get a player with tons of potential that they can repackage for a profit if he acts up.

NY basically gives away Shumpert and JR Smith. They weren't worth much anyway.

Cleveland loses big time. They exchanged one headache (Waiters) for another in JR Smith, got a low first round draft pick, and acquired a player who hasn't really done jack (Shumpert). Additionally, they traded away two centers! Like seriously, WTF!? You'd think they would at least flip Waiters for a PF or C to shore up their biggest weakness but instead they package their two backup centers with Waiters to get @55 clown Smith, a low pick, and a player with a bum knee,

I don't get it.

Clevland now has only one active Center on the team (Haywood) since Varejao is out for the season.

Kevin Love and T Thomas are their only power forwards.

WTF.

Cleveland now has a thinner front line then even us!

Something has to be up.

If melo sits the Knicks May be worse then the 76ers. I really like brook Lopez as a possible trade option. All these assets and draft picks need to cash them in.

Unless Cousins situation goes so far south I bet he wouldn't mind playing with Bledsoe again

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

One guy I think the Suns might be interested in free agency is Draymond Green.

Hornacek's offense requires a big man to camp near the 3 pt line and Green can do it. He's the perfect stretch 4 for the Suns because he's also a pretty good defender and rebounder in addition to being a 3pt shooter.

There is question about whether or not GSW would be willing to let him go though. Maybe we can make him an offer that GSW would have trouble matching?

I wouldn't mind giving Green (Draymond) some Channing Frye money. Anything more is overpay.

Puzzling move by the Cavs, has to be a follow up trade that nets them one of Dalembert, Mozgov or another vet defensive C on the cheap, they can't be done - I think that pick will be moved again - why don't they ship it along with filler to LAL for either EDavis or Hill?

The Knicks are going to go all out for Marc Gasol and Goran Dragic, bank on it. If Calderon isn't shipped out before the deadline then they're only keeping him round to try and recruit Gasol, plain and simple.

Hopefully this triggers some moves and maybe we can get among it by dangling a pick or one of Green/Thomas/Ennis.

As awesome as we've been lately, I'd call TOR and see if they have any interest in moving Amir for Ennis + Shavlik. He's a great locker-room guy, is on an expiring and he is athletic and defensive, would be a great option in that second unit. Could also play some C cos he has some range on that jumper too. If he doesn't work out, he's an expiring $7m deal.

And Green is going to get BIG money from someone for sure.

Hayward got $15m+, Parsons $15m...I'd rather Green than Parsons and have him just below Hayward, though you could argue he's a better player.

Somebody will pay him $70m over 4, whether he deserves it or not.

Green would be awesome here, but doubt we can afford him and keep Dragic.

You're not saying Gerald Green right? You're talking about Draymond Green? Either way, nobody is paying Green THAT much money, lol.

Draymond is getting PAID this summer. For me he's the DPOY this season. Dude can defend all 5 positions, pass, shoot threes... Yeah, somebody will pay him $15M per year.

With the Suns seemingly in a mode of either go big or do nothing, I cant see them paying good money for another tweener in Dre Green when we have guys like Marcus, Pj, Tj, and all of these draft picks to use. Green not being a completely clear upgrade means we probably wont take a shot in the dark at him. Also think of him more in the Gerald Green area of players. Took too long for him to show too much so he wont get really big money... at the highest maby offered 5-6 mil a year for 2-3 years.

Man.... OKC really got Waiters for mostly nothing. If he didnt get along with Irving, how do you think he and Westbrook are gonna get along. I hope that they get into a knock down drag out in the first practice and thier chemistry is BLOWN!!! Westbrook has one of those faces that is JUST BEGGING to be hit, and hopefully Waiters feels the same.

I don't know what Gerald is going to get but someone will DEFINITELY write a big check for Draymond. That is, assuming he doesn't get injured or hire Larry Sander's life coach.

Cleveland is looking for a role player to play D on the wing. Their goal was Shumpert. I think he will be more content than Waiters was. I think they had to take Smith in order to get him. Wouldn't be surprised to see Smith amnestied.

I don't think Smith is eligible to be amnestied now that he's been traded. He has to be with the team continuously dating back to 2011 IIRC.

It looks like Brooklyn would like to dump Lopez. Its being reported that they were considering sending him to the Thunder for Perk (negative value), PJ3 (good value) and Lance Thomas.

Not sure what it would take. IT, Green, and Plumlee? A thought anyway.

Yeah ... well it got tiring to see the freaking revolving door of players during the Nash era. Every damn season the team was being remade. There is no way to create any continuity in defense or offense when the player turnover is that high. Team trust and chemistry is thrown out the door. The Cavaliers are a perfect example. All-star level players unable to play together. Look at the Wolves ... primary players (minutes played) in the last few years.

2014 Wiggins, Dieng, Young, Muhammad, Lavine, Brewer (already gone), Mo Williams, Bennett
2013 Love, Rubio, Brewer, Martin, Pekovic, Cunnigham, Barea, Dieng
2012 Ridnour, Kirilenko, Cunningham, Pekovic, Williams, Shved, Barea, Rubio
2011 Love, Ridnour, Wes Johnson, Derrick Williams, Pekovic, Rubio, Martell Webster, Beasley

Another revolving door of players.

The Suns are hardly a bad team ... if 20-16 is your definition of bad I guess we would have to be undefeated this season for you to make a happy post.
