These guys will be gone by the deadline. My guess is neither of these guys have much value and the rest of the NBA knows the Celtic need to get rid of them. The Celtics got scrap parts for Rondo so I can only imagine what underwhelming returns they will get for these two.

Agreed. Just gotta hope that a team gets desperate around the deadline and overpays. Not sure if that will matter, though, because I don't see Green and Bass lasting here until the deadline anyway.

I see the reasoning behind a Bass trade but i would be inclined to keep him. While thr rebuilding process might not be over tomorrow, it will end at some point.
We need a few solid reliable veterans to help us through this period and to lean on when we start our ascension.
Bass is a proven commodity - hes tough, committed and reliable.
These are attributes this team needs - tank or no tank - we need high character players.
Further, any decent 'buying' trades will surely involve Sully or Kelly making Bass still required.
Hes done a great job for us in the past and can do so again in the future.
If we can find $8million for AB, then i dont see a need to trade Bass for a Memphis 2nd rounder or whatever the price may be.
Obviously if someone offered a decent return then id take it but i think Bass offers too many intangibles to shed him in a fire sale

I could get behind this if Bass were a few years younger, but he is 29 going on 30.

I just hope they move quickly. Nobody wants to watch a garage sale that lasts all the way til the deadline.

Do you even know how we got Kevin Garnet? The key pieces to that trade: Al, Green, Gomes. ALL NON-LOTTO PICKS. We all know you don't like Danny and his methods... but we also all know you don't know shat about how the NBA works. So, swell. Enjoy your misery.
I liked danny until he Waited to long to get value out rondo at least last time you had Paul to start with and then added ray before the trade clause was lifted. And we had al. Signing some bad contracts and wiffing on low draft pick as of late and trading your only top 50 player for peanuts has me wondering wtf. Also try to attack the facts not the poster, lashing out at me gets you no where. I'm not happy about no identity with my Celtics. I'm not convinced of smart being the future pg and a way early trade pisses the locker room off. With green and rondo we could have used those picks to get our #1 options. Now we use them to get what? Who is the max contract going too now? We basically just put our stoke into drafts and disgruntled sub par stars at deadlines'but even then whom are they? Sure if danny does get a legit better player than rondo and a go to scorer and then one more legit Third player out of all these assets. I will gladly be like damn he did it again... but man he has a huger hill To climb now without positions locked down now we gotta pray somebody steps up and after each game I watch I grow angrier with the players he put his chips on not stepping up.

Re: Rumor:Celtics Are Actively Looking to Trade Both Jeff Green & Bass.
I cannot believe I am admitting this but about a month into the season, when Green was playing well, I was thinking to myself "Maybe Ainge should try and resign Green." Yeah, I know Green is not a person to build around but the that way he was playing at the start of the season made me think he would be a great complementary piece if somehow the Celtics could get an established player or two.
Now all that is out the window. Green has pretty much turned into a pouty bitch that clearly does not want to be here since Rondo was traded. Not that the Celtics were ever going to land something something great for him but Green has forced their hand with his attitude. His trade value is at an all time low because of his play and the fact that every GM knows the Celtics have to trade him. I would not be shocked to see him go for a second round pick some garbage players just to make the salaries match.

I was also thinking about the possibility of re-signing Green. Now, I just want Danny to get rid of some players and make Stevens' job easier. Too bad only NYK and LAL have pointless contracts like Bargs, Nash or Amare'e.
The only other team are Pelicans: Gordon for Bass and Green. We'd surely have to get something else for taking additional year of salary, but it'd pay out because we'd strengthen Clippers' rival for the playoffs. But, they LITERALLY have nothing. They've traded all their 2nd rounders and 2015 1st roudner. Only thing they could offer us is their 2017 1st.
I think I'd do it. Davis gonna be in his prime during 2016-17, but it's still the West. It might pay off.
Gordon and NOP 2017 1st for Green and Bass: Who says no?

Eric Gordon is the new "Josh Smith and Larry Sanders". Thankfully Danny Ainge is the GM of the Celtics.

U mean that he doesn't wanna play for the Pelicans?
Well, newsflash for all the spoiled millionaire nba players- you have a ridiculous contract, which u haven't earned at all, you should play wherever they put u....
I think the Pelicans should just probably waive him....
Good assessment:

Meaning posters in this forum kept posting trade ideas to get Josh Smith and Larry Sanders. Now that the truth is out that both are complete garbage, posters are moving on to their new hero "Eric Gordon". Another high priced garbage player.
Like I said, Thankfully Danny Ainge is the GM of the Celtics.

Just read that opponents shoot 60 percent at the rim against Ryan Anderson.. A Green for Anderson swap fits NOP perfectly- we just have to find a third team to take Anderson and give back expirings and assets..

7 pages of trade ideas and not a single rumour, we all know Ainge is looking to trade them.

I don't know about other people, but the only reason I proposed Gordon is because he has a huge contract and his value as a player is close to 0, meaning Cs would get other pieces. Might as well be Bargnani.
He is unfixable at this point of time. If you get sth out of Gordon - great. But 95% chance you won't.
