Is there something afoot?

Post#1 » by Eiknarflin » Tue Jan 6, 2015 9:50 pm

I was wondering why ESPN is so infatuated with the non PI call, and it got me to thinking...

Will the surplus of conversation on the "missed" calls be a factor this Sunday in Green Bay? Will the refs tend to be more "careful" not to let Dallas get away with anything?

I know the refs are professionals, but they are also human. The ridiculousness amount of commenting about how badly the refs did in the Detroit game is bound to affect them.

Had to cut the TV off yesterday. I see that's all it is mostly what they are talking about again today. It was pretty screwed up, whether they got it right or wrong. Bottom line we still had to go make plays. That is being overlooked now because of the penalty. Of course the Dez thing happened as well.

The PI or hold- I've seen less called and worse PIs not called. I have never seen a ref announce the penalty and then change it though.

You could be right Eik. We know coaches try to get refs to look for certain things during a game. As you said, these guys are human, so you have to wonder if they'll be quick to throw flags on anything borderline. If Dez sets foot on that field without a helmet, I'm pretty sure he won't be lucky 2 weeks in a row.

I think it has no effect on how the game is officiated in Green Bay.

I do like the referee we got this week. Steratore.
