GT: Pistons (6-0) @ Mavericks (26-10) ~ 8:30 PM EST
Both of these teams share the longest winning streak in the league right now at 6 games, something has got to give!
what to watch for: 3 pointers. both teams shoot and give up a lot of three pointers so watch for this to be a factor in the game.
honestly I'm less worried about dirk can do to our team and more concerned with how we defend monta ellis. he seems to be the key to their offense and slowing him down will go a far way.
we also get to see Charlie V play, hopefully he plays at least a few minutes.
a win here would let everyone know we are for real, and assuming charlotte loses to new Orleans a win here would make us one spot closer to 8th seed
go pistons!

Should be a really fun game, win or lose.
Keys to the game:
-Can KCP hamper Monta and stay out of foul trouble? I don't think KCP have it all.
-Can Monroe/Drummond dominate their match-up against Dirk/Tyson? Dallas doesn't have Wright anymore, so I give Detroit the front court edge.
-Jennings, which version are we getting tonight? Scoring powerhouse or the chucker?
How can anyone not be pumped to watch tonight's game after San Antonio?

Back to back games in Texas against contenders, I don't know but this team has been shocking. It's going to be really hard to do now.

I can't see the Pistons getting the win in this one, but i'm hoping for a close contest. Dallas are legit. I like them a lot.

Dallas is one of the toughest/worst match-ups for us. Can't see us winning this one - hope to keep final score within single digits though.

You'll see a lot of Villanueva. He has been playing meaningful minutes since the Rondo trade.
Congrats on the win in SA. To come back from 18 down and then the resolve at the end of the game after the Spurs had taken the lead and looked in control was mighty impressive. Of course, Drummond just looks like a man amongst boys. Against Duncan. Dallas is a bad defensive rebounding team, so it's even scarier. With that said, while Drummond will take stuff away(lobs, blocks), it seems you'll be overmatched against the Mavs offense. Parsons had 32 in Detroit. Ellis driving, Dirk spacing the floor. Of course there's Rondo who can't shoot now, but if he manages to stay in front of Jennings, that should be enough to impact the game.
Who would have thought this matchup would be so intriguing.

We're going to have problems with Ellis and Parsons... those two and Drummond are the keys.

Pistons don't win this one. Want to see a lot of fight though. Would love to keep it close and get a break at the end. But it's in Dallas and Detroit teams haven't done well there this week.

If we slow down Monta and contain Parsons, we'll be able to keep it fairly close.
Honestly though, yesterday's win put Detroit on the map again especially SVG's Wall tactic. Anything more at this point is a bonus since we are pretty legit.

I'd honestly be surprised if we won this game tbh. It's a back2back on the road and our players are probably sore and tired from their amazing comeback against the Spurs. I still think our guys will come out fighting after their confidence skyrocketed from yesterday's win. This game will be close whether the Pistons win it or not.

how has rondo been since the trade? I really respect dallas but was scratching my head when you guys made this trade since your offense seemed to rely on spacing and ball movement which rondo kills. obviously you guys are making it work because you've only lost one(?) game since the trade but I'm just curious to hear what you guys are doing with him.

I don't really expect us to win this one, either. But as long as we compete on a back to back against an elite West team that's still a good sign for where we're at.

I agree in that I'm not expecting a win... but look forward to seeing a compete and fight for one... and look forward to coming back home to the Palace on Friday/Saturday nights to hopefully the best crowd the Pistons have seen this year.

Like some people have already said, Ellis and Parsons are the biggest problems. Maybe Dirk too if he gets it going. KCP,MEEKS, and SINGLER/BUTLER need to step up big on defense, otherwise it's game over.

I don't really think Parsons is that much of a problem. The guy has been playing inconsistent so far. If anything, the player I'm most worried about is Rondo. The guy is too competitive and I'm sure he's looking forward to stopping our winning streak.

Re: GT: Pistons (6-0) @ Mavericks (26-10) ~ 8:30 PM EST
No Piston fan should expect a win tonight. This group is legitimately better then their record, but who knows how good. One thing I know for. Certain, is that they are young, coming off a massive high, and sooner or later, they are going to come crashing down. They don't have experience to rely on, veteran leadership , or intangibles to win this sort of game, that comes with time.
With all that said, if they can keep it competitive for 3 quarters, before buckling in the 4th, it will show determination, and spirit, along with pure talent. Mavs by 16, but that lead gets built in the 4th.

In the first games he still needed some time to get it going, but now it seems he has understood Carlilse's system. He only needs to shoot less. He's shooting even more than with Boston. Completely unnecessary. With Ellis, Parsons and Dirk we have so many weapons out there. Not forgetting Chandler for severel alley-oops during the game. If he cuts down his shooting and concentrates on passing and defense only (sure, with still some shots here and there, maybe 7-8 per game like in Boston; right now he's averaging 13.6 with Dallas), the Mavs could even be better. But seriously, I'm happy for you guys. Nice to see what one trade can do.

Two losses. Hawks and Suns, in the week after the trade. The schedule was soft, with just one particular win standing out, against OKC, with Westbrook having a nightmare game.
A change had to be made since Nelson was so bad and the Mavs D was terrible. The price wasn't high. So even though Rondo had some red flags, that's a trade you make 10 times out of 10. Especially since Dirk is nearing the end of his career.
Rondo has improved the perimeter d a bit, which wasn't hard to do. First and foremost he stabilized the position(Nelson would be benched in the 4th many times) and can defend both guard spots most times, allowing Ellis to have easier matchups. He is good setting the team up on offence, but he has the obvious flaw of being unable to shoot, so sometimes he'll be like a Shawn Marion who'll hide in the corner while Ellis does some work. There are insulting situations of him being completely unguarded but still not hitting the shot. Carlisle has good rotations so his offensive deficiencies are masked a bit by usually subbing in and out with Dirk. Overall, considering he is still building chemistry and getting back 'mentally' playing for a winning team, you can say he has been above average/good because the Mavs just look like a more tenacious and physical team on deffense and on the offensive side, Ellis has continued to be very productive showing they can co-exist in the backourt.
