Game 36: Cavs vs. Houston Rockets 7:00 EST, ESPN FSO

Post#1 » by King Stannis » Wed Jan 7, 2015 7:54 am

The injury and trade ravaged Cavaliers look to stop the bleeding while hosting the Houston Rockets. Despite a great performance from Kevin Love, the Cavs lost to the lowly 76ers in Philadelphia on a night where they only fielded nine players after trading Dion Waiters to OKC. Recent acquisition JR Smith may be available to the Cavs and Kyrie Irving is still a game-time decision. Houston is 4-6 in their last ten.

Carried by ESPN and Fox Sports Ohio.

Keys to the Game:

1. Irving plays.
2. Get the damn ball to Love a lot.
3. Try some D, gents.
4. Rebound a lot.
5. No shots for AJ Price, please.

Injury Report:

Kyrie Irving: Questionable, Back.
LeBron James: Out.
Anderson Varejao: Out.

Farewell, Dion Waiters.

you mean like the ones Harden usually gets, when he's not letting his man blow past for an easy layup?

Any team with Harden is legally prohibited from complaining about foul calls.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Too shorthanded. Kyrie couldn't do it alone. Love picked a bad night to shoot like crap. At least he contributed elsewhere and with hustle.

They need bodies.

Just don't understand why Delly and Harris where out there at the end and JR. was sitting We needed more scoring options late in the game

It was Kyrie against 5 late

Because Smith was 0-5 and had 3 fouls in 16 minutes?

Blatt continues to show why he's a bad coach with the lineups he put out on the floor last night. Tristan Thompson is a good rebounder but he was giving up nearly 4 inches to Dwight Howard. Howard abused the cavs last night in the second half with offensive rebounds and easy scores against the small cavs lineup. It's sad that blatt not once went to Brendan haywood when it was clear to anyone with a brain that the cavs could have used his size and presence at the rim. When Brendan was in in the first half he affected a lot of the rockets drives to the hoop and he was able to match and even exceed howards size. The fact that blatt didn't make the adjustment further shows that he lacks awareness of what's going on out there. He's a horrible coach and I find myself screaming inside when I see the lineups he puts out there on the floor. Some idiots on here will continue to defend him, but I'm telling you guys that the Cavs will never be a great team as long as blatt is the coach and is making the decisions of who's out on the floor.

Blatt is horrible at putting the right lineup out on the floor. His biggest weakness and the reason the cavs will not go far.
