NBA D League Prospects 2014/2015
Not sure what happened to this years DL thread. If the mods want to merge this, have at it.
I just stumbled across these videos and thought others might find them interesting.
This guy reviews what he sees as the top prospects. He mentions several S4s

Here are video and you can even watch the games if interested.

Re: NBA D League Prospects 2014/2015
Awesome link, hands!
I might have the opportunity to get back to watching video of prospects. Ryan Blake...son of Marty Blake. Nice. Greg Schmidt does the draft prospects videos on DX.
My bias is to go by the numbers, stats over time. That said, I need to watch. Pictures are worth a lot of words. Hands, I hope to learn from Ryan Blake. I can't watch D League long. If he is scouting I can watch Blake's breakdowns.
I watched Bellineli throw down a dunk in the Spurs loss today. Saw Nick Young have a nice game vs Golden State. (Swaggy P followed it with a stinker vs the Bulls). My thought: My predraft analysis was Morris Almond over Young and Bellineli. Those two made it. My pick essentially did not.
I wonder if video study ahead of that draft woukd have helped? Sure would not hurt, if I knew stats ahead of time. Video highlights are usually just that, the highlights.
Joe T over at DX had seen Almond play. I hadn't. His insights were better than my numbers assesment of Almond@Rice U..

I have long been a proponent of keeping at-least one or two roster spots open to keep an eye out for 2nd chance players like Gerald Green and the recently signed Robert Covington. Young replacement players possibly on the way up instead of vets on the way out.
I'm thinking there must be a young and hungry SF out-there that could come in here and put some heat on old man Pierce and Otto.
Have at-least of a couple of these guys in your pocket.

Re: NBA D League Prospects 2014/2015
Over the last 3 years, the Wizards have used the DL pretty actively.
Its just this year, they gave that last slot to Rasual and its hard to expect they could have gotten anything better regarding production from anyone they found in the DL. To me, it not as important where you find the talent as long as you find it.
But I do think the DL is going to be used more and more and the talent coming up from it will get better. The draft will always be important for top line talent but the DL will become more valued at a level of late first or second round picks. Not a replacement mind you. Just more in line at that level. There will remain advantages to getting someone straight out of college, but there are also advantages to getting a player that has been in the NBA then sent back to work on the things they need to focus on or just given more time to mature.

Tim Frazier is a PG with the skill set the Wizards need.

I liked his stats at Penn State. He had a pretty bad injury his Jr year. He's actually about the same age as Wall. Frazier went to Rice then Penn State.
Maine Red Claws’ guard Tim Frazier was named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Monday, Dec 29 – Sunday, Jan. 4. This is the second Performer of the Week honor for Frazier this season.
Frazier led Maine to a 3-0 week and averaged 20.7 points on .629 shooting (22-for-35), to go along with 10.7 assists, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals. On Jan. 2, Frazier connected on a game-winning put-back basket to seal a 99-98 victory over the Westchester Knicks. On Jan. 3, he scored a season-high 34 points and recorded 12 assists, seven rebounds and three steals in a 187-170 win over the Delaware 87ers.

I hear some kid with an NBA pedigree who has dominated the DLeague previously & won a summer league MVP is available.

Nah, David Stockton didn't win SL MVP.

I vaguely remember Tim Frazier at PSU - he played with another tiny guard - and they were good together - like the Louisville backcourt of Smith and whatshisname (someone CCH liked). The other guard at PSU was known as the better shooter.

WTF?
187-170?
Perhaps we should take Frazier's box score statistics with a grain of salt.

I just ran PPA numbers for the D-League this season. Now that the spreadsheet is constructed, it should be relatively easy to drop in previous season numbers. Here's what those prospects look like in PPA (average is 100 and higher is better):
- Quincy Miller -- 202
- JaMychal Green -- 194
- Seth Curry -- 177
- Glen Rice Jr. -- 116
- James Michael McAdoo -- 210
- Willie Reed -- 195
- Earl Barron -- 126
- Chris Babb -- 144
- Bryce Cotton -- 114
- Andre Dawkins -- 153
And the "Honorable Mentions:
- Khem Birch -- 210
- Tim Frazier -- 176
- Eric Griffin -- 124
- Jordan Hamilton -- 41
- Mike James -- 51
- Chris Johnson -- 136
- Orlando Johnson -- 69
- Toure' Murry -- 73
- Ronald Roberts -- 188
- Tyrus Thomas -- couldn't find stats
- Damien Wilkins -- 130

Glen Rice Jr. -- 116

Nice to see PPA match my eyes.
As for Seth, why not since its not costing anything.
My guess is they will so call up after the trade deadline. They might have wanted to leave that 15 slot open in case they needed it for a trade 2 for 1. Just a guess.

Not a very good game for Seth Curry. He gets kind of lost in the shuffle with so many bigger more athletic players.

No... Didn't show much game at all out there.
Andre Emmett was balln though.

Wow. Emmett is 32.. I would have never guessed.
http://dleague.nba.com/player/andre-emmett/
And Quincy Miller should make it in the pros. He is right where he should be for now though. Developing his game in the DL
6' 10" SF....

Emmett is literally so old that he played for Bobby Knight. Bobby Knight hasn't coached in what - 97 years?

Miller would be a nice get - as would Birch or Curry.
