I love Game6. Another great thread man.

On topic: Ariza must hate being in Houston or maybe he likes it a bit too much...

Where are all the clowns claiming he is better than Chandler Parsons? He had an outlier 3PT shooting year last year and clowns were claiming he was a better 3Pt shooter than Parsons.

I was never a fan since his first stint in Houston. I'm surprised so many people forgot about that stinker after the first time they signed him to a contract.

He had two solid shooting seasons in Washington and then torched it to start the season this year. Can't blame people for saying he's a better shooter than Parsons. It was unreasonable to expect a record-breaking crash from Ariza like what has happened.

I remember years ago Ariza tried to punch DeRozan in the back of the head, and luckily for both him and DeRozan he has bad aim and the shot he threw at DeRozan missed.

He hasn't just been below 50% but actually below 42% for the last 27 games - impressive

He shot 41% from 3 last year, but it's worth noting that he shot 39.2% on 4.2 attempts per game after Wall returned from injury the year before. Just thought I'd throw that out there and give Wall more love :D .

Seriously, though, I hope he turns it around. I like Ariza.

It really is the John Wall effect. Players ought to observe how Wall inflates the stats of those around him, and want to play with him. And Washington management would do well not to overrate the players that they have, without considering: A) Wall is inflating their stats and B) What actual stars would accomplish recieving those passes.

Agreed. Wall assisted on 109 corner threes last season, 53 of which (48.6%) were to Ariza. The next highest corner 3 duo was Dragic/Tucker with 33. I'll be interested to see what Rasaul Butler's corner 3 numbers look like at the end of this season.

I'm unmoved by this revelation.

FG% as a stat become useless the day the 3-point line was introduced. Ariza shoots a poor FG% because his role in the offense is to shoot 3's almost exclusively. He's been a pretty bad 3-point shooter, but his overall efficiency has NOT been historically bad. In that stretch of 27 games cited in the OP, Ariza actually broke a .500 eFG% 5 times, including his most recent game.

His eFG% over that stretch of 27 games is .410. That would rank as the 5th worst this year among players with 500 or more minutes, better than MCW, Payton, Stephenson and DeRozan. Heck, the great Kobe Bryant has an eFG% of .411 this year. (And note, I'm just using the 27-game stretch to make Ariza look worse. If you use the entire season, Ariza's eFG% is .451, better than 35 other regular rotation players including guys like Russell Westbrook, Derrick Rose, Deon Waiters, Vince Carter, Alec Burks and CJ Miles.)

Of course its bad, hes been playing a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) amount of minutes, fatigue is going to be a factor on why it was great in the beg. and has slowly declined as the season went on. Picking him up was still tons better, again the rockets didn't need more offense, we needed defensive and ariza is head and shoulders better on defense than parsons.
