sounds like more trolling to me.

RealGM logic: you're wrong because i said so! it doesn't matter what facts you throw out or what he has said! its what i want to see happen instead of him staying at Ohio State so its guarenteed to happen!

the facts are that kids change their minds when money is around the corner.
i have no dog in this race. i like him as a player but i don't care if he stay or leaves. obviously you do and you're emotionally invested in him staying.

looks like you're new here. great impression. i can already tell that i don't need to read your posts ever again so i won't.

yeah none of that matters.
and he can still get bank if he gets injured with insurance

Great, now I have to figure out how to put the troll on ignore.

Aside from Evan Turner, who ended up being an extraordinary bust in the NBA, who has benefited from spending an additional year or two at Ohio State under Thad Matta? Did anyone help their draft stock? I know 5-star recruit Kosta Koufos fell off the face of the earth after an OK career at OSU, but he was only there for one year, so he doesn't really fit in this discussion. Former five star Deshaun Thomas is enjoying the continuation of his career in Barcelona. Maybe Sullinger? Former top 5 recruit in the country either duplicated or regressed in almost every statistic in his sophomore year. You'd think someone as highly touted as Sullinger would go quite high in the draft, but instead fell precipitously to 21st. Probably should have came out his freshman year.

Can't really find anyone.

You know its the NBAs job to develop them in the NBA not Mattas right?
Funny how you ignore him turning Mike Conley into a top 5 pick?
Matta also got Cook drafted, as well as Koufos, Mullens, and Turner in the first round picks, none of themwere projected to be drafted in their draft class when they were coming out of HS. he also got the most out of deshaun thomas and aaron craft.

Matta is as good as it gets in CBB, one of the 3 best coaches in basketball. but you probably think a guy like cal has any coaching talent or ability because he gets guys who are already projected top 10 picks, but then destroys their draft stocks anyways (see Harrison twins, WCS, Johnson etc)

Your passion for Ohio State basketball is cute. Unfortunately, you are derailing a thread which many of us would like to use to follow Russell's development over the next several months. Russell will stay or go regardless of your opinions and desires and none of us care to argue whether Ohio State and it's coaching staff are comparable to any of the "historic college basketball programs." It is not.

Russell will definitely a starting shooting guard in the NBA . His game is that of a shooting guard and he has the prototypical size. I see a Brandon Roy caliber shooting guard with better shooting and less penetration.

Don't care about this discussion with you anymore because you're so blinded by your OSU fandom.

And I don't need to argue that Cal is in another universe better as a coach than Thad. One, he has a ring, show me Matta's. Two, you talked about OSU having "rebuild" years or something along those lines. Cal doesn't have those. He's had one disappointing season at UK with 70% of the team being freshmen. But it's clear you're not interested in intelligent discourse, so I'll move along.

I still think his best position at the next level is PG due to his slight frame. And he's got the ball handling, vision, passing ability and feel to play there.

I don't understand why people are so enamored with him. I don't think he can finish at the NBA level, and while he is a decent ball handler and a good passer, I don't think he possess enough skill to make up for the fact that he is a non-threat in certain aspects of the game. He has a lot of the same strengths and weaknesses that Trey Burke had, but he isn't (IMO) a good enough ball handler yet to play point guard. If he stays another year and can develop into a true point guard I would be a lot less hesitant about him, but in the top 10 he seems like a very risky pick and I don't know that the reward is all that high. Chris LaVert seems like a lot better prospect and there are other shooting guards in the draft that are probably better as well.

He's been in my top 5 for about a month now. He's the best guard prospect in college ball, by a mile.

You also said an NBA team can run their offense through him as the 1st option

I have a suggestion. Stop being a troll. Get an original thought, and stop regurgitating Draft expresses' preseason scouting reports has if you wrote them. I haven't seen one original thought or informative post from you. :clown:

I'm in B1G country, I don't need DX to know Russell's value as a player. DX has him @ 4 but this will play out a year or two from now and be bumped. I feel very confident in my evaluation.

Great. Bump the thread in two years. My evaluation of Russell being better than your idol, Caris Levert, won't make me or break me. Because it isn't personal. I don't really care if you agree with my evaluations of prospects. But it would be less annoying if you offered some insightful reasoning of why I'm wrong or why you have your beliefs, rather than your stupid emoticons. Honestly, I think you do that because you have no idea how to argue your point intelligently.

lol I've already said Levert is a great utility guy at the next level and slot him 9-15 depending on the lottery outcome/team need.

You have him ahead of Turner, Winslow, Hezonja and that is far more questionable than having him over Levert (which comes down to preferences and how you project them as defenders).

Trust me, I want an NBA team to make him their 1st option. Thats good for the B1G.
