Honestly, I don't feel at all that this is true. I truly think that the reason he's miserable and his play has dropped is because he wanted to stay in Boston, and he now sees that that's not happening. He played his best, hardest ball of his career to start the year, and as soon as he found out that all that earned him was a trade, he went into his funk.

I could be dead wrong, but every single thing I've heard out of his mouth in the media seems sincerely frustrated and worried about being moved.

Marc Stein wrote:Green, meanwhile, is widely believed to be available leading into the deadline in the wake of Boston's deal to send Rondo to Dallas last month. However, Green told local reporters last week on the eve of Rondo's first game at TD Garden as a visiting player that he doesn't "want to know how that feels because I don't want to be traded."

And I feel like I've been reading similar things from him pretty much nonstop recently. Yeah, he could be playing the good soldier, but what's the point of playing the good soldier in the locker room / to the media, and being a malcontent on the court? To me, it all feels more consistent with him feeling chagrined / rejected.

Again, I could be way wrong. But I think we've all got entirely the wrong read on this.

Edit: And, if I am right, then here we are turning on him and telling him to not let the door hit him on the way out when the only thing he's guilty of is being depressed that he can't remain a Celtic. Maybe it's not, but if that's true, it's pretty messed up.

Am I the only one that doesn't understand this Green quote being that he was traded from OKC to Boston mid season (and let's not talk about when Boston traded his rights on draft night to Seattle). He's been traded multiple times yet doesn't want to know what it feels like... Did he have complications during his heart surgury that led to him forgetting everything prior to 2011??

I believe they are taking a quote from an answer he gave to a question about having a video tribute for himself in the future.

It's going to be interesting to see how Danny can make more moves that are positives for the future while doing nothing for us this season. I can see why he's angling so hard for more draft picks, they wouldn't put any unwanted wins in the ledger. It's got to be getting hard to continue ignoring needs while this team is so positionally overstuffed already. It's at the point where we already have all the players we need on this roster to fill the minutes Jeff and Bass would lose. Also not really sure how a hard working productive guy like Bass who has actually been a plus for the 10 minutes a game Brad decides to focus on defense gets lumped in with sulkmaster Jeff.

There is also the fact that Green, warts and all, is a relatively exciting player to watch on the court. If nothing else, there is always the chance of him throwing down a highlight dunk or making a spectacular coming from behind block, Lebron James style. Frankly, I am struggling to be entertained by the product that is currently taking the court. Remove Green from the equation just might make me check out for the remainder of the season.

I feel you, but he has also made it pretty clear that he is tired of losing.

Either way, I still think the chances of Green opting in are slim to none. He knows he can make around $15 million a year if he hits the open market, and Boston is not going to be the team that gives it to him.

this brings up a good question. The video tributes have to be done right? I figure the only players to get a tribute would be the ones involved in the 08 title. Are we going to see a Brandan Bass tribute?

Glad to hear it. It will be good for us and for Jeff to get out of limbo. Another really good spot too.

Well if Stein is reporting it is serious. Him or Wojnarowski...

Will see if Green is active tonight!

Maybe we can package together both Wright and Green.

Green for Prince and first rounder
Wright for Koufos

Was thinking the same, looks to be gathering the necessary downhill momentum. Tough to keep a guy when everyone is saying where he is headed.
