Jimmy Smith @JimmySmith504
#Grizzlies' Tayshaun Prince, said to be possibly be headed to #Celtics, is on the floor for warmups; was told he would play.

I'm not convinced that we've acquired a single legitimate asset since the Pierce/KG trade. And even those are nothing special unless the Nets decline further.

BINGO!

I think we were all in on Love. Now no vet will agree to come here in trade. The only chances left are strike gold in the lottery, or use the entire cap space to accommodate and LeBron style megateam (which could be nicely supplemented by the lower picks.)

No FREAKIN Way! Using your logic, we also drafted Kevin McHale with the 3rd pick and won 3 titles with him as our 2nd best player. Yet you claim Top 5 picks don't matter......and, oh, btw, KG was a former Top 5 pick who we needed to trade for just to win our 1st title in 22 years.

Please show me where I said top 5 picks don't matter. You are confusing me with someone else.

But please tell me how Jefferson, Green and Gomes weren't the main pieces of the Garnet deal?

Since when do guys get to decide where they get traded? There are like 5 guys in the whole league with no-trade clauses.

What you conveniently forget is we had to trade the #5 pick for Ray Allen first and that's the only reason KG even agreed to come here and re-sign. A star has to want to come here and sign for us to be able to pull off another powerball-type trade.......that ain't happening again. let's stop kidding ourselves......once in a lifetime trade and people act like we can pull that off again like it's easy.......give me a break.

So we broke up our starting 5 and traded perk for what? This? Green was supposed to be a guy that would be a bridge to the future. This is a sad end to that awful trade.

The starting five that would be playing for an elderly home in a couple years?

Who is acting like it's easy? The bottom line FACT of that (and any) rebuild is you need ASSETS - young players and picks. You keep bashing what Danny is doing... but you haven't proposed an alternative!!!! What other choice do we have? Please. Pretty please. Enlighten us.

Must have missed the part where we traded Larry Bird since then.

And the destruction of the Boston Celtics continues. Ainge better know what he's doing or the death of this franchise is in his hands.

It doesn't excuse that trade.

Are you for real? Green for Perk was a GREAT trade. Don't forget, Perk GOT PAID. We got Perk's best years and traded him RIGHT before his HARD fall...

Well the return was about what i expected which is pretty much noting. Unless Ainge can trade the picks to get a good player it's going to be a long long rebuild waiting for these mid to high picks to develop.

Once again... is Young "nothing" because he is the only player we have drafted with the picks we got during this rebuild. A couple more Young(s) would go a long way to rebuilding this franchise...

And keeping Perk would have amounted to nothing as well. That next year (after the trade) was Perk's worst year ever. He wouldn't have changed anything...
