Not happy with that. Waste of money. Just keep Green and let him walk over a protected first.

We could just buy a first rounder for the money we would waive with. We have to get something back for waiving that salary. Maybe another deal where we trade prince for a a protected second rounder or something in a salary dump.

Who cares!?! We can't use that cap space this year anyway. So it doesn't effect our ability to improve the team. It's just cash. That's the owners problem, not the fans...

Only trust the Woj

I don't believe the sun is up until Woj reports it.

he is so good he usually reports the sunrise a minute or two before it actually does 8-)

That's only because the sun waits for his permission before it dares rise.

waive nelson prince and salmons. call up frazier from the d league and off you go. its clear that winning games this year is no longer the priority; developing the young players is. anything that takes away from that has to go

I'm hopping for Chris Johnson. But both would be nice...

Cash is always the fan issue. I don't like wasting Wyc's money, because that money could go towards something else down the line. These guys aren't going to just write checks like Jim Dolan. Got to be something else coming our way if Salmons in the deal.

I hear you. But I'm not sure I care. I only care when it effects the cap, which in turn effects our flexibility. But I do hear you. At the end of the day... when the Cs are good... Wyc MINTS money. I'm not worried about him pulling back on the purse strings... As long as we don't suck for more then 3 or 4 years at a time...

Really hope Ainge can squeeze Adams from Memphis. Him + a 1st would ease the lingering pain created from the lackluster Rondo trade.

I would love to see Bass shipped out soon too. Him to Portland for Thomas Robinson would be awesome.

And if there's a free roster spot, I'd love to sign DeAndre Kane and see what he can do.

Also, to take Salmons, on ESPN trade checker the trade Boston would need to take back Russ Smith in the deal to make it work.

If we took the deal and some cash to even out salaries, the i do the deal.

But, getting back to the deal, Green is owned $9.2 this yuear, Prince $7.7.

So, that $1.5 million in salary difference would cut our payroll just a bit. Not sure how much, depneds on what's already been paid, but assume this trade nets a first round pick and saves $700,000. That's a good trade for my viewpoint.

We add in Salmons and Russ Smith, and that makes us take on more salary then we trade out. I would take back a $1 million in cash to even this thing out.

That's what I bet is being worked on. How much cash goes to the Celtics.

I bring up cash, but, Ainge, since he's taken over, never spends money on non-players unless there is a reason to do so. He never adds salary unless that salary translates to wins.

I doubt he does a trade for assets that adds to payroll. He will pay for a player, but not a non-player, which Salmons is. Gerald Wallace was a unique case, and he got unprotected firsts to do it.

In framework of proposed three-team trade, New Orleans' Russ Smith moves to Memphis, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

More or less agree... but he will spend cash not only on wins... but also assets... so if spending the cash is the only way to make the deal work... he will do it. That said... wouldn't be surprised if we get a Pels 2nd for our trouble... Or maybe the Grizz pick is completely unprotected in 2019. DA wants to build a dynasty and by 2019 (the first year the Grizz can likely trade a 1st) Z-Bo will be OLD. TA will be OLD. Gasol might or might not even be there... I'd spend a bit of cash to get that pick unprotected (as opposed to lotto protected in 2019, top 12 in 2020, top 10 in 2021... yada, yada, yada...)

Keith Bogans?

Marcus Thorton?

Both examples of added salary with no future on the team. We will take on salary if it helps get a deal done or translates into some kind of asset.

So the Celtics traded Rondo and Green for Jae Crowder, three protected first round picks, Jameer Nelson and expirings?

How is this worse this worse than KG/PP/Jet for Crash, 3 1sts, a swap right and expirings?

Can some explain why the latter is drastically better than the former? We traded three guys who had one foot out the door for four assers, cap space and Jameer Nelson. That seems like a clear cut good deal...

Another Arn Tellem client on the Pelicans: Anthony Davis, Omer Asik, Tyreke Evans, Quincy Pondexter, Jeff Withey. Five of thirteen, not bad Arn, not bad.

Sign and trade to get Evans to NO involved Robin Lopez, Vasquez and Whitney, all clients of Tellem. If this guy was Kirilenko's agent I don't think Sixers would f... him like they did. Super agents FTW
