This trade is as much about the back-up PF position as it is about the back-up center spot.

Sitting Plumlee absolutely kills any value he has, he is a 7/7/1.5 center when getting 28+ minutes, thats got to be worth a pick between 20-30 to a team looking for a backup big man.

You'd be ok with just Len & Wright.

I'm hopeful Wright can be an improvement over Plumlee (no doubt on his offense...doubting Wright's rebounding)...it's the added depth at 4-5 positions that I like in this deal.

You'd trade Plum for a pick?

Better than sitting him all season and he walks for nothing at the end... yeah, I think play him until Suns can get some sort of pick (asset) for him.

Alright. Still think only having Len & Wright for bigmen is risky

We'll see. I think we will continue be 8 deep with Wright eventually replacing Plumlee.

you mean 9- Morris/Wright/Thomas/Green off the bench

If you liked the rebounding with Plumlee as back-up...get ready for Wright's boarding.

Plumlee wasn't/isn't nearly as bad as you perceive him. He gonna play.

Sorry, yea 9 deep.

Yea I don't think Wright's much of an upgrade over Plumlee rebounding wise. But I know for a fact Wright won't be fumbling as many passes and blowing as many layups as Plumlee.

I expect Plumlee to still play for now but eventually within few weeks, Wright may take up all his minutes. 10 deep with Wright and Plumlee on the floor together provides very little spacing.

Watching Pistons and Hawks... Tolliver is much better utilized in the Pistons system... looking like a proper stretch 4 lol.

Anyways.. another trade that will catapult Suns into contendership real quick.

Suns / Warriors
Dragic (x2) + Bledsoe for Curry

Suns / Kings
Morris twins + Green + Lakers pick for Cousins

Suns / Nuggets
Suns 2015 pick for Afflalo

Who says no from all of those trades? :-)

Suns:
C: Len / Plumlee
PF: Cousins / Wright / Randolph
SF: Tucker / Warren
SG: Afflalo / Goodwin
PG: Curry / Thomas / Ennis

Next trade has to involve either IT or bledsoe. I'm leaning more toward bledsoe because of his inability to lead this team on the offensive end.

Love the trade. I can see the Suns standing pat for the rest of the season, unless we trade for an absolute star. We now have a solid rotation for every position and I think we can utilize both Plumlee/Wright off the bench at the 4/5. I could also see us starting Wright against bigger teams such as the Grizzlies.

@WojYahooNBA: Yahoo Sources: Boston, Memphis and New Orleans working framework of Green to Grizz, Pondexter to Pelicans, Prince/Salmons/pick to Celtics.

Can't see Wright playing much PF on this team at all.

He's here to light a fire under Plumdawg's backside, and if he doesn't step up, he'll be gone by next season. Wright will be more than happy to assume the backup C minutes.

Bledsoe/ Thomas/ Ennis
Goran/ Green/ Archie
Tucker/ Warren/ Zoran
Markieff/ Marcus/ Randolph
Len/ Plumlee/ Wright

1. You have Plumlee ahead of Wright at C, and thats a no-no. Wright is was better offensively and defensivly than Plumlee.

2. Wright will get minutes at PF. I look at your depth chart and its waaaaaaaay off. You have Warren and Zoran as back-up SF when they get ZERO playing time (Zoran wears a suit most nights). Marcus is usually the back-up SF (along with Green). The depth chart should look like this:

PG:Bledsoe/Thomas/Ennis
SG:Dragic/Green/Goodwin
SF:Tucker/McMorris/Warren
PF:MkMorris/Randolph
C:Len/Wright/Plumlee
Behind The Bench In A Suit: Dragic #2

That is more how we play and use our guys. Think of all the times we have thrown Tucker in there as a PF, those minutes will be given to Wright. I see Wright getting at least 20-25 minutes a game easy.

Nets lost to the Sixers, lol. Mason Plumlee is playing out of his mind. Could easily see the Nets trading Lopez...

Kerrsed. You are dead on about your rotation. That is exactly how I see it playing out.

Pretty good analysis from probably the best basketball guy at espn (Pelton) who only watches the Suns sparingly.

Phoenix Suns: B+

Unfortunately, Wright played so little for the Celtics that it's hard to get a read on how he'll perform outside the friendly confines of the Dallas Mavericks' offense. Wright shot 57.1 percent from the field in Boston, but on just 21 shots -- as many as Kobe Bryant and Russell Westbrook average per game. We can be confident Wright won't shoot nearly 75 percent for the Suns, as he did for the Mavericks, since that was far better than Wright's previous track record (67.7 percent last year and 59.4 percent the year before). But how much worse is tough to say.

Many of Wright's high-percentage shots are set up by rolling to the hoop after setting a screen, and it's interesting to take a look at Phoenix's pick-and-roll performance this season. Roll men are averaging 1.053 points per play, good for sixth in the league according to Synergy Sports (Dallas is second at 1.21 points per play), but such plays account for just 5.1 percent of all Suns plays -- the league's fourth-lowest mark. We'll have to see whether Phoenix's score-first point guards look to lob more often with Wright around.

Wright
In particular, Wright seems like a poor fit with backup point guard Isaiah Thomas, who tends to go on dribbling exhibitions after getting a screen rather than immediately finding the roll man. Starting Wright might work better, but that seems unlikely with second-year center Alex Len showing promise since moving into the starting five. Wright will probably take the minutes of Miles Plumlee, who has been a mild disappointment this season and might not figure into the Suns' long-term plans.

Even if he only shoots 60-65 percent, Wright will be a solid offensive upgrade over Plumlee the remainder of the season. I especially love the idea of Phoenix pushing the pace with Wright at center and the team's three point guards on the floor together, giving the Suns a devastating transition attack. This trade strengthens Phoenix's chances of stealing a playoff berth and should make the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs nervous about holding the Suns off.

Though Wright is a free agent at season's end, he's just 27 and Phoenix will have his full Bird rights. An offer just above the mid-level might be enough to keep Wright in the valley long term, which means this doesn't necessarily have to just be a rental. And if any team could spare the draft picks, it's the Suns, who had three first-rounders last season and could have an extra lottery pick via the Los Angeles Lakers this June.

1. I never said it was an accurate representation of pecking order, just an observation that we are now more balanced as a rotation. Wright is more able to assume C mins than Mitchell, and I'd say in our system I'd classify Wright more of a C than Markieff should they ever share the court together.

2. LOL, If you think your depth chart is representative of our rotation then I don't think you're paying attention to our games. Warren may be a third stringer, but so is Randolph, who you list as backup PF. We typically run a nine man rotation, where the backup SF minutes are split between Green and Marcus. So if you wanted to be pedantic, you might want to review your depth chart to something like:

Bledsoe/ IT... Ennis
Goran/ Green-IT**... Goodwin
Tucker/ Green-Marcus ... Warren
Markieff/ Marcus... Shavlik
Len/ Plumlee-Markieff**

IR: Zoran
** small ball minutes

Yeah it is, hence they keep Randolph.
Also as you can see in the Spurs game, Kieff plays Center when the team goes micro-ball and they do it a lot.

Any chance you think McD will swing Bwright with a package of IT for a bigger upgrade than just Wright? I could see us trying to send a package to LAC for Jordan. We could get him fairly easily with what we have for assets. He's expiring but I think he'd enjoy the up and down style we play.

Marcus and IT need to go. Two major ball stoppers and headaches (for me at least). Can we turn a package of IT, Marcus, Plumlee and whatever else into Melo? CONTENDERS!!

Bledsoe / Ennis
Dragic / Green
Melo / Tucker
Keef / Wright
Len / Wright

Solid 9 man rotation. Wright can play back up 4 and 5 and could play alongside Len and Keef.

I wonder how butt hurt Markieff would get if Marcus gets traded lol

I'd like to keep Wright, and make the playoffs this season.

I do believe that now we are truly well positioned for a "swing for the fence" move whenever it comes.
While I'm not advocatig it, imagine what the package of the MoBros+IT+Green+LAL pick could get at the right moment...

All in all, I'm happy with our team as of now, good to have a competent GM. Although if something valuable comes up for one of IT or Green (especially IT), I won't shed a tear.
