Yea, I agree with this. Reggie is still young at 23 or 24, so he and whoever we draft could possibly be a good duo that makes up the core of the team after Melo retires.

He'd fit well with either of the two bigs.

I think Towns is so highly rated based upon his outstanding H.S. career. Because he surely hasn't shown me anything "otherwordly" yet that would make him a top three pick based upon his short career with KY.
Tanking again, I suppose. Is there any other way?

Although we do need to hit on our pick, if we don't i don't see it pushing us back 3-5 years because we still have 30+ million to spend and that's where we really need to hit. But don't get me wrong here cause we do still need to hit with that pick as well.

And I think Reggie knows this. He plays like he has one foot out the door now at OKC.

They wont be able to do that with another scoring threat like Melo on the floor if we get him..

Why is that? Duke more than one option out there.

Gotta give Jahlil props though, he's doing what has been expected out of him which is score the ball.

I'll say this though with the way Big Al is playing & the comparisons between the two I wonder if his game is outdated. A lot of people look at him as a throwback to the big post guy in the paint but it's like using a brick phone in 2014.

Big Al hasnt been dominant in this league either and it's primarily due to his lack of versatile scoring and his defense....both traits that dont bode well for Okafor. That type of game may very well be outdated.

The NBA has moved on to bigs who can stretch the floor, handle the rock in traffic, and chase down shots on the other end.

What I love about Jahlil's game is that he doesn't only look to score tho. He shows that he's more than willing to pass it out of the post if he see's an open man or a cutter. And his passes are accurate for the most part.

Brick phones have made a comeback though:

Not that I am making some metaphorical comparison or anything. :P Plus I'm still on team Towns at the moment.

Yea with all the props Al has gotten he really hasn't been dominant, never made the all star team, made the All-NBA team once in his career and that was the third team. Good scorer yes, very evident by his multiple 20 PPG seasons but it wasn't really meaningful if that makes sense.

If that's Jahlil's ceiling, I'll say thanks but no thanks..

The transition to versatile big men is clear and if you don't catch up to that you'll just be left in the dust.

Duke is shooting 3-14 from 3, NBA teams wont.

Okafor is playing good, the rest of the team is not.

Marc Gasol is a top3 Center in the game, Okafor is a better offensive player with similar defensive ceiling.
Gasol at age 19 was a fat guy that couldnt even leave the bench for Barça.
He didnt flourish until he was 21-22 and got in shape.
