Crawford for Wilson Chandler is one rumor.. The only way this trade gets bigger for us is if we help LA restructure their bench. Bass, Nelson, Farmar, Barnes, Crawford, TPEs, Prince all in play in theory..

The biggest problem for the Clippers is their lack of flexibility.. They don't have any salary filler whatsoever.

@WojYahooNBA: Sources: Boston, Memphis and New Orleans agree on five-player trade sending Jeff Green to Grizzlies. Trade call Monday.

Deal done per Woj.

I have a tough time conceding that that is debatable. It obviously got to a far stage in negotiation with Sacramento if Rondo was asked about playing in Sacramento and the PG market is unique. And I doubt Green's value has drastically trended downwards over the past 6 months or year.

Oh It's definitely debatable. But I'm not here to argue one way or the other because it's too tough to tell. Could Danny have gotten more than a couple late first round picks and some bench players for Rondo and Jeff had he been more aggressive earlier on? The longer he waited, the more aggressive he obviously had to be. No one really knows the offers on the table at the time. We are just assuming. Agree with most of the points stated. But it's very debatable.

I know we are all excited about Crowder. I even heard Jimmy Butler comparisons. But that's just Celtics board protocol. It's what we do lol.

If Rondo hadn't torn his ACL...yes. Since he did tear his ACL his value plummented as his contract ran out.

Jeff Green's value was always a late 1st, at best.

I'm just a boxscore man on the Clips but why would they move Jamal? Ain't he like one of the 6th men in the league or has he regressed? Austin can't be better than him anyhow lol

Ok, deal's done. Time to report on pick protections. Time to report on Prince- keep, trade, waive... And this means Austin can't be folded into a bigger deal- he's a Celtic or he's in a 1-1 swap.

I was just about to speculating on who we have to cut to take both Prince and Rivers and then I remembered we have an open roster spot from the Wright trade.

If the Clippes feel like they can move Crawford after acquiring Rivers then Doc has lost it, I think he's their most reliable shooter, he's deadly from the 3 pt land and don't think the market for SF's is that strong now that Green has gone.

Hoping Doc pulls off a few moves that will kill his teams chemistry...

Their bench is awful this year- they miss Collison, they didn't get Pierce, Hawes has been average. Farmar average to bad. They need an upgrade at the 3 but don't have the pieces to get one without moving Crawford. It's really a wait til next year season without a hugely creative or lucky trade- they need to max Deandre with Ballmer's money and get a lucky MLE signing..

Jeff Green is one thing but I honestly don't think RR trade value is even debatable if people are being honest. Ainge may end up being lucky so the difference is narrowed -- I do think Dallas could fall apart next year -- but no doubt Ainge could have gotten much more if he acted in the summer of 2013 to trade Rondo.

To argue otherwise is almost as silly as suggesting that Rondo's trade value after the 2006-7 season was stronger than after the 2009-10 season. Yes, Rondo had 3 years of his rookie deal after the 2006/7 season and he had some nice trade value(MN wanted him as a part of KG deal) but after 2010 season, he had made the all-star team and was signed to a reasonable long term deal. And had been the starting PG for an NBA champion and a team that made the Finals. And had played real well in the Cavs series and was an extremely popular player.

I just think it defies common sense to suggest Rondo's trade value stayed the same from the summer of 2013 to last month. His play on the court even had most Rondo fans recognizing he just wasn't the same player. He hasn't been close to being the same player. Ainge is an A+ communicator -- he has a communications degree and as a 2 sport athlete that has been interviewed a ton he knows how to handle the media extremely well. That being said, clearly Rondo's value dropped. It is nearly as clear as saying that Al Jefferson's value increased after his rookie year.

And as I said in another post, there is a clear advantage when trying to rebuild to trade the Rondo's and Green's sooner rather than later since you can than use that cap space earlier to take on bad short term contracts and possibly get more picks. I think Ainge honestly thought Rondo was better than he was and underestimated the risk posed by the ACL injury. Ainge obviously knows that some players have come back well from ACL injuries but others haven't.

This all being said, I still think Ainge has done an excellent job overall since the summer of 2013. Over 80% of the gm's in the league, I am convinced would have done worse during this time period.

Thanks guys. This trade has been going on for so long I completely lost track of who was in it. lol

So Boston and LA will work something out for Rivers as a separate deal?
