Clarkson on the other hand has a world of potential to be developed, at least let him get some run this year and turn him into a legit backup to Kobe next year, and possibly a part time replacement starter for Kobe.

Also, tank.

I would say the samething about price and boozer, especially now we have kelly back with black.

But I notice the difference this time is there is no screens. Price getting beat one on one point blank.

You're right, Lin is actually a better defender than Price when he's doing well. Price is just more pesky.

Thanks for the honesty.

Wes's jumper looked smooth as f tonight. Was good to see.

Also Tarik already playing 20mpg. Good stuff from him.

Wes looked really good and it was good to see him come back strong. It's good to see Black get minutes and I hope it continues.

I went to this game last night. It was the same story as before, we start slow, catch up and maybe lead for a few minutes then when it's time to win a game we can't finish because we lack players other than Kobe who knows how to close.

Lillard was just the man in the last 5 minutes. We had no answer for him and won't for awhile until we can get a lead guard to make him exert energy to defend.

Also Portland is nice but their lack of quality bench depth will be their undoing. They have no scoring punch from none of the 5 spots on the floor from the bench. Maybe Kaman will get points when Lopez comes back but that's about it.

I've been pleasantly surprised at Kelly's ability to play SF. It's only been 2 games but I thought he'd be getting torched.

So DEEP

Here IMO are the keepers from this years team (Hope we resign the FA's)

Davis (5mill)
Lin (5mill)
Kelly (under contract still)
J.Randle (of course)
Nick Young (bench scoring)
Kobe (swan song)
Wes Johnson (2-3mill tops) need his athleticism on both ends of the court
Black (minimum)
Ellington (will need his shooting going forward probably will be another minimum deal)

Like I said what we're lacking is a true starting PG, and an efficient 26ppg (45%) scorer to carry the load nightly. We have the bench and role players that can play. We're just missing the impact players

When the best three offensive players of the team come off the bench, that's what you get. They aren't bad closers too, they're just not on the floor. Unfortunately, each has his own flaws:

Nick: jacking shots
Boozer: D and pushing fouls
Lin: TO and inconsistency

What team has answers for Lillard? There is no magic bullet. Lin can make Lillard exert energy for sure, watch some of the Houston vs. Portland games and Lin vs. Lillard.

Totally agree, we have the components but when these guys are forced to play minutes beyond their actual ability their weaknesses can be exposed. If we had a two headed or three headed core with either containing that 26ppg scorer like you said we'd be contending easily. Because the guys we have starting would be better than average bench players. Guys like Young, Booz, WJ and Weezy could hold you in games or bring you back.
