Premature 2015 Draft Discussion
It's probably a little too early for this, but since it's an off-day for the Bulls and the fact that the Kings have just beat the Cavs and our picks looking relatively good at this particular moment, what is this draft class projected to be like?
I don't really get into the draft discussion until much later into the season, but any college basketball guru's out there who know what this draft class is looking like? Who are the possible college players within our range who is likely to declare who can help, whether they be from the United States or from overseas?
I don't want to get ahead of myself, but with a little luck we could have two first round picks in the 11 - 20 range, but that won't mean all that much if it's a weak draft class. As a Bulls fan, I know how pointless high lottery picks can be if you're drafting in a weak draft class, and the opposite where you could have a relatively low pick but if you're in a deep draft class you can still get your hands on a impact player.

Premature 2015 Draft Discussion
I don't know much about how this class "ranks", but it is so hard to actually judge until years later. 2011 was supposedly one of the weakest classes in recent history but it produced Kyrie, Klay, Jimmy, Kawhi, Parsons, and other starters and good role players. So ended up being a pretty decent draft class.

Yeah, no doubt but still the projections on the depth can be quite accurate at times, but not always.
It wouldn't shock me if the Bulls didn't find anyone all that appealing in this draft class they may flip it for a veteran player, or to move it for a future draft pick, or to go the Euro-stash route.
From the little I've read about this upcoming draft, it is meant to be a somewhat weak draft? I'd have no idea. But it would suck if we're positioned with a late lottery pick and a mid-first round pick in a crappy draft class.
Why so serious?

Way too early to know. Have very little idea of who might be delcaring for the draft.

If we can grab the kings pick at 11 or 12, give me one of the foreigners, preferably Mario Hezonja.

This is what the draft order looks like right now. As of right now, we would get the Kings 11th pick and move from 25th pick all the way up to 18th. I'm sure it won't be the 18th once the season ends, but still it should be a very nice jump.

I don't like the depth of this class. I would trade the picks, we don't need more rookies under Thibodeau.

If Bulls wanted to, I bet they could potentially move up to the top 10. Top 10 pick for Deng is looking like a solid return.

Any youngsters that catch your eye within the 8-12 range? Being that if we do get the 11th pick, we could potentially move up again if need be.
From the looks of it, it seems to be somewhat heavy with big men, though I have no idea how talented these guys are. It could be a good opportunity to bring in some new blood in terms of a center.

That could be an option too.
Although, I wouldn't mind getting a foreign player that they can stash for down the road.

Re: Premature 2015 Draft Discussion
If we keep the picks, I'd say we have at least 1 draft stash or we move up.
I don't know what the situation is with Hezonja and Porzingas in regards to coming straight over or continuing in Europe for the foreseeable future, but they're both very intriguing talents that are around our Kings pick range. I love both of these guys as prospects, Hezonja has a bit of a douchey attitude though so I can see the Bulls passing on him.
I think outside of Okafor (who's on another tier to anybody in this draft in terms of potential) there's not a big difference in value between the rest of the lottery. I like Mudiay, he should be a very good PG in this league, and then on you've got a bunch of big man prospects that don't really appeal to me relative to their projected positions (not to mention, we're already stacked in the front court).
Assuming we're still looking for wings, there's two guys that stand out to me, Justice Winslow and D'Angelo Russell. You'd probably end up having to trade up for either one, but I think they both project to be really good NBA players.
Further down the board, Kelly Oubre and Caris LaVert are two other guys I've seen a bit of and I like. Oubre is an athletic lefty who can shoot and looks like he has potential on both ends of the court. He plays hard, but he seems like a bit of a character, don't know if he's a Bulls type pick or not for that reason. LaVert is a long, talented scorer in the physical mold of a Jamal Crawford. Talented scorer, be interesting to see how his body translates to the next level. I reckon both these guys are probably listed a bit low right now on NBADraft.net.
By the off-season, who knows what our needs will be, but at the end of the day it's always seems best to go with BPA. PG pickings are slim by the looks of things, and the only good C outside of Okafor is Towns, who we'd have to trade up for (and if we did that, it would be a serious vote of no-confidence in Noah's health). I see us going for another wing or BPA Euro-stash.
The obvious answer is that we'd be looking to move the pick(s) in a deal though, but sometimes nothing worthwhile can present itself. It's not ideal to get another young player for Thibs, but it's not worth throwing a good pick into a deal for the sake of it, either.

The Bulls don't have any matching salaries to get anyone back making more than a few million. That's the problem despite having valuable picks to trade.
I'd rather they trade Noah then use the picks to grab a Center and PG in the draft. Noah/Gasol need future replacements and PG is always shaky with Rose's health plus Hinrich is almost done.

you don't need to match salaries when you're trading picks for picks. Just like when they traded he 16th and 20th for 11th to take Doug.

Re: Premature 2015 Draft Discussion
I think the major need right now for Bulls is to get a young backup C for future years, top priority! Also we dont need two picks,Thibs wont play them,so we just might trade 2 picks for 1 higher pick again. Only other possibility is that we draft two and we stash one player in Europe for 3 years.. But as I said we need C, Okafor & Turner will be probably out of reach, but someone like Towns,Cauley-Stein or Dakkari Johnson (I like him) are interesting..

Willie cauley-Stein could probably be had, but I think he's a bit of a reach at 11/12 and bulls pick is probably going to be later than 24 when all is said and done. Really aren't a lot of notable centers past okafor and towns.

Dakkari Johnson is interesting..Big,physical! Okafor & Turner will be gone by then.. Towns, Stein and Johnson are next one..
I dont like Kaminski much..

True, I read your post wrong.
I don't like the idea of trading two picks likely in the teens to move up a few spots unless you can get a top 5 pick and get a much more sure thing. A #8-10 pick isn't necessarily going to pan out more than a guy a few spots later and two picks gives you two chances to win big plus more trade assets. Consolidating for Doug is looking like a major fail right now considering Nurkic looks legit and Doug didn't even look like a rotation player before he got hurt.

Re: Premature 2015 Draft Discussion
Bulls shouldn't trade those picks. They have holes at PG, SF and C. You can solve two out of three problems via draft. So why not draft a young promising C with the SAC pick at 11-13? Let him grow next season and make him a starter in 2016 when Noah is gone. While there is some hope that McDermott and Snell turn out to be at least decent, there is another hole at PG where we should draft a young promising PG with the Bulls pick.
Draft Cauley-Stein and Grant and it could be a good draft.

Bulls swap the pick with Cleveland and they are at 19-19. Lebron will be back but this pick will be at 15-20.
