^Great story Tom. Thank you.

Everybody asked me on Twitter and just walking around, ‘Man you would’ve been so good if they would’ve kept (Andre Iguodala), Lou (Williams), Evan (Turner), Spencer (Hawes) and Thad (Young),’ ” said Holiday after Thursday’s Pelicans practice at Temple’s Liacouras Center in preparation for Friday’s game against the 7-31 Sixers.

They damn sure would've been OK, particularly in a conference where Atlanta, Toronto, and Washington (teams we beat regularly back then) are at the top. Don't forget Vucevic too. We had a good young team, but Harris, Collins, and Thorn screwed it up. That set the table for Harris and Hinkie to bulldoze what was left.

In some ways "together we build" is a good sixer mantra because we never seem to get out of the building stage under Harris.

Sorry to disagree. This "what if" story should be titled, "what if I had a connection to the 76ers FO?" I can't wax nostalgic about the Jrue Holiday team. No stars. Even with Vuc, that team never wins a title.

"We could have been ok..."

Good riddance!
“This may be one of the best jobs in basketball right now,” Colangelo said at a press conference introducing him as the new GM of the 76ers after Sam Hinkie resigned.

And that's the reason Hinkie blew up, because he wants the Sixers to become more than 'OK'

NBA column: Would it work with Okafor and Embiid together in the Sixers' frontcourt?

That's the stated reason at least.

Thanks for the article. I agree with everything except your assertion that Noel doesn't work as a PF on the defensive end if paired with Okafor and/or Embiid. If you mean that Noel won't block as many shots away from the rim, I agree. However, if you don't think Noel can be effective guarding "stretch 4s" or generally playing outside of the lane with his quick feet, hands and natural instincts, you're dead wrong, IMO.

If Noel is a questionable fit with Okafor or Embiid, it's on offense until Nerlens can knock down a 12 - 15 foot jump shot.
