Ainge won't be buying out or waiving anyone until after the trade deadline. May use players in trades. After the deadline I expect Prince, Nelson and Thornton to be bought out or waived. Bass is 50/50.

They may keep Bass around if he is not traded because of the Celtics shortage of bigs.

I can see Ainge getting bored and trading 2nd rounders for other 2nd rounders just for the **** of it.

There isn't a team in the league willing to take Prince with that salary. Might as well just buy out/waive him now instead of pretending he's a part of the team.

Bad contract + 1st for expirings are still possible, and considering we're paying them either way why not let them sit out and keep them just in case.

You never know when a team might call offering you a pick to eat another year of salary, and you never know how big that contract might be.

Knicks need to cut $3.3 million to avoid the luxury tax. Prince for Bargs works in the trade checker and shaves $3.8 million for NYK. I believe that would create a $3.8 mil. TPE for Boston. No idea what else NYK can send...

Funny enough, Knicks have trades their 2nd round picks through 2019. Though they picked up the Cavs 2019 2nd rounder in the Smith/Shumpert deal. I like this deal, just throw in the Cavs 2019 2nd or Knicks 2020 2nd and I'm good. I'd push for both, but Knicks can't use him any more than the C's can. Get him and one of the vet pgs off the team soon.

OK. SALARY people. think salary.

What possibly could we get that is worth the difference in Prince's and Bargnani's salary. $3.8 million for a second round pick(s)? No way. That's not happening.

Prince will either be bought out, or traded to a team that can give us a matching salary that is less and is also expiring. Look for player that make $5 million and is on an expiring. I can see that.

We aren't adding any salary in acquiring assets. Every deal is positive cash in our area,

As far as Rivers, the trade is simple, Rivers for Jordan Farmer, who is routed to a third team because we don't want the salary for 2015-16. Isn't that the issue?

Would only be a prorated amount... so incentive for that kind of deal is waiting as long as possible. More like buying a future 2nd for $1.3m. Still high, but whatever. 2nd rounders in 2018 (lesser of Clippers and Knicks) and 2019 (Cavs) and I'm down.

The problem is that Farmar is terrible and no one wants him.

Lakers might take him or have to wait until they deal Crawford to another team, and deal off Rivers then.

Our highest played player on this roster is Gerald Wallace. Next? Yashaun Prince. We are $12 million under lux tax. Crazy how we deconstructed this team.

There's also Thornton's expiring $8,697,500

Yup. Wallace, Thornton and Prince are 1-2-3. Bass is 5th at 6.9.

Sources: Danny Ainge has just traded his son Austin to the Sioux Falls Skyforce for "the rest of that chicken sandwich". Trade call later today.
