No way you can let Cobb go and go with Jordy, Adams, Boykin, Janis and Abby.... and no real TE threat. That gives you one guy you can count on and defenses would just take him away. A few years ago, we had Jennings, Jordy, Driver, Jones and Jermichael... and even with Cobb, we don't have near that type of talent. I'm a huge TT fan but I will call for his head if Cobb walks. I actually think he'll get a deal lower than expected, he knows that Rodgers makes him better and being only 24, he'll have one more big free agent contract, barring injury.

I don't understand how anyone can use this justification after clutch TD grabs from Adams / Quarless / Rodgers today.

I understand we've lost some guys.

You've got to realize that every single time we've lost a guy, the guy behind him has stepped up or been drafted.

My take is simply this: When your team is this good, with a QB this good, you have to be choosy with where you spend your money. For me - keeping the offensive line, along with Lacy (would could ask for a new deal at the end of next season) is priority over Randall Cobb, simply because we have Jordy / Adams, some decent tight ends, some potential at backup WR (specifically Janis), and TT making draft picks.

I'm not going to say that Rodgers made Cobb what he is, but I will say that if you put Randall on the 49ers the last 4 years, he's not in line for $10 mil a year this off-season.

The amount of chemistry necessary between a QB and WR is as imortant as skill. Nelson didn't become a main target until the end of his third year and didn't have 1,000 yards until his fourth year. Look how many back shoulder throws Adams screwed up this year, that takes time to develop. Plus Cobb has a skill set that is different than the other receivers. There is no way that Thompson goes into a season without enough tools for Rodgers. Jordy, Boykin and essentially 3 rookies are not going to cut it... Especially without a stud TE.

Coming into this season I didn't think we'd win the Super Bowl. We're now one game away. I still don't think we'll win, but I'm glad we have the opportunity.

Next year, however, an improved Adams, improved Rich Rod, plus a new ILB...we could be great.

Not saying he will the player Peppers is, but I think he might the one to take his roster spot as one of the OLB's The downgrade may be worth the millions it would save.

Will be some tough decisions this offseason. I hate breaking up this oline with how well they have played but bulaga history of leg injuries really scares me. If some team throws big money his way to play left tackle I'd probably let him walk.

No idea why anyone would label Bulaga as "gone". RTs with injury histories generally dont fetch HUGE paydays. It comes down to whether a team decides to throw big money at him and whether TT feels confident say Tretter could step into the starting lineup at Tackle. I dont forsee anyone throwing money at him with his injury history and think TT wants to keep this line intact with Tretter n Barclay being the backups along the line. I think he'll be back.

Raji will be back on a dirt cheap one year deal.

Peppers will be back if they're able to restructure his deal. Otherwise he'll be let go. Hopfully they can work something out.

Cobbs going to get paid. He aint goin nowhere... Expecting a Cruz like contract

Tramon or House is the only real question outside the possibility of Bulaga getting a stupid high offer. They should be able to retain one but not both. TT likes to go young in these type of situations but Tramons so far ahead of House as a CB that I think they'll let House walk n give Tramon a 2 year deal to retain him.

Honestly we're in good shape finacially and the only "hard" decision we have to make is on Tramon or House. People need to remember that when it comes to FA time and people start complaining about wanting to add this player or that player. Its because we dont throw around money that we'll be able to keep pretty much everyone of note

I agree but I also dont think you'll see a ton of teams lineing up to throw big money, or LT money if you will, at a RT with an injury history. Think it comes down also to whether TT feels Tretter could step up into the lineup.

It would take a truly absurd offer for me to be ok with letting Bulaga walk. He will only be 26 years old by next season. I can't believe people are so ready to accept losing a big part of the best offensive line we've had in a long time.

Peppers wants a ring and knows he’s in the best place with Rodgers to get it. TT realizes Peppers has had a massive impact on the defenses improvement. They’ll get a deal done.

Right tackles usually don’t make big bucks – if I’m a GM for a team that needs a LT I’m looking at Bulaga. I can pay him better than any RT but still be a steal for a LT. He’s still young and has proven recovery. TT doesn’t get into bidding wars. Plus hes got Barclay Tretter and the draft or even FA.

Cobb may go the Jennings route. TT certainly wants to keep cobb but will not want to pay much more than Jordy. He has Adams coming on strong and has hyde as a PR. So it will be up to Cobb to decide between a very good salary about $1.5 mil/yr more than Jordy and play with Rodgers OR what? Will he even get that mega-offer that never came for Jennings? the question is what is cobb’s attitude during the process? Will Randall be unforgivingly offended by TT’s unwillingness to break the bank? I don’t expect any team making a mega-offer and I think cobb is smarter and a nicer person than Jennings.

In this era of hyper passing and 4 & 5 receiver sets almost every team in the league can use another CB. Some teams don’t even have a decent pair of starters much less also a quality nickel, dime and backup outside guy. Offers for Williams and House will be numerous and it only takes one to be lucrative. Plus House was insisting he start.

Pack draft TE in 3rd or 4th or may sign surprise FA here if any quality is there - especially if cobb leaves.
