I don't think we'll cut Smith, but don't know about this statement either...

He admitted cutting Lin was a mistake...and we signed him again.
He clearly found out that signing Ariza was a mistake and traded him after one season for Lee.
He's said Royce White was maybe the worst first round draft pick, ever.
He called the Terrence Williams trade his worst trade ever.

Oh how I wish this was a Smith problem but the Rockets have been struggling all of December. 6-6 last twelve and 4 wins were double digits comeback wins. But yes Smith should just come off the bench.

Just continue to bring Smith off the bench and he will excel. Their experiment cost us about 2-3 games.

UPDATE: Only the Rockets can make a horrible player turn good. First with DMo, and now Josh Smith. Josh said he has been looking up to DMo and trying really hard to improve and it DEFINETLY showed in the last game w/ cavs. It's totally impossible but the rockets have done it! We love you Smoove!!!

The 11 games before we got him, we were 8-3, 11-4 if you go back 4 more games.
4-4 since.
Morey 2020.

That is a nice little record but those wins were against lesser teams they struggled with. Hard fought wins against the likes of Minnesota OT, Phoenix, Sacramento OT, Denver OT and a loss to the Pelicans. They struggled in a lot of those other games.

I hate Smith as much as the next person believe me but he is not the problem. Also heard on 790 Bull was talking to Charlie and in a meeting with McHale Smith said to put him on the bench. He said he felt comfortable coming off the bench opposed to starting

I suspect he would've been fine coming off the bench in Detroit. He wasn't a turd in the locker room in Detroit, either. He just wasn't the kind of leader that you expect the highest paid player in franchise history to be. The question I've been asking
for years is -- how did Mike Woodson get him to stop shooting 3P shots that one season in Atlanta?

He really said that? Can you list a source? It's very nice to hear an established NBA veteran saying that a youngster like Motiejūnas is an inspiration to get better. It means Donatas is on a right path.

I believe it was during a post-game interview.

So while McHale frustrates me often, he does get credit for putting Smith on the bench as he should be.

I'd say lock it up.

i don't know what is going on with howard

Well it sure sounds better to the public if presented that way, but either way he's on the bench.

Howard is playing D and rebounding while the other guys do the scoring. I'm not worried about him at all.
