If they clear him before the end of the season, he's not on their books so they avoid the luxury tax.

Possibilities:
1. TPE for Bargnani and a future 1st.
2. Wallace for Calderon- they shave longterm money, we shave annual salary.
3. Both guys for TPE, expirings- we get the Knicks' 1st this year.

I was thinking this also.
If not a first maybe Tim Hardaway Jr? I don't know how much they value him over there but I'd kick the tires on that and see what they are willing to give. Probably not much as they can just let the guy expire and keep their assets..worth a try though.

Calderon has two more years at over $7 million after THIS season. The only reason Ainge should go anywhere near that contract is if they are getting the Knicks lottery pick this year.

Good owners. Good coach and gm. Only one bad contract on the books. Prospects and picks. It's not new York city but it's also not Minnesota.

Stevens good coach? :D
TOP3-5 worst coach in the league at minimum.
His rotations are simply absurd, his tactics in the end of games, his control of dynamic of game, he give too minutes to pressey, thornton, wallace and other bad players.

I think he has gotten more wins than we have talent, and there have been no player issues under him. Whatever, take out good coach if you want. The point still stands. For any 2 stars looking to team up Boston is a better destination than most places.

Here is a question- if Love is a fa in the summer do we still want him for the max?

good question?... I am leaning toward no at this point... no doubt he is a great offensive player and rebounder. but I think you need to have a really solid defender at every other position to be effective with love. So maybe if we get a solid defensive center then I'd consider it. Love looks like Laker material to me :)

Sully had a good game last night...if you ask the same question after he has a bad game then maybe different answer ;)

I feel like it's a no now. That ship has kinda sailed I think. Rather take my chances on Sullynyk for less money.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

If we could only get love and lbj. The Cavs would hate us forever.

But just love I kind of want to say no but there are just not that many stars. It's a question of how picky we can be.

Depends on what you can get in trade for Sully/Olynyk really.

Thing about the Cavs is PF might be LeBron's best position now, so those guys are just stepping on each other. Celtics are pretty much set up in the back court defensively to accommodate that type of player, better than Cleveland IMO. This current team pretty much needs offense and shooting in the front court, really.

I think yes, he worth a max contract, not worth max with this season, but is a perennial all-star and is a young player. I think isn't good way evaluate his value only with this season -for example in january has high performance-. Also, Cleveland organization, roster and coach not help him to do great environment for him.

Ok here is another question, who is worth spending the max on? I mean for us not in general. Add to the list.

LeBron James
Durant
Davis (not Ricky)
Howard
Harden

All less howard. Why? he depends a lot on his physique, he will have 31 years old this year, I think his performance is until 32-33 as much

Yes on Love. But you also need a high quality post defender/rim protector next to him. Moot point though as Love is either staying in Cleveland with LeBron or going to the Lakers

No. I'm not keen on giving a max contract to someone who makes Dirk look like KG defensively.

There's no way the Knicks give up a chance at the #1 pick in order to get rid of Jose Calderon. It's not happening.

I bet Nelson is the next to go. We must be in serious talks and we just dont want him to get hurt before we trade him or else why not showcase him? He was just starting for a good team in Dallas.

I think there is a bigger clippers deal in the works. It would make sense that Danny helps out Doc and picks up some more future assets.

ID give Curry the max if he was ever available.

Id max DMC.

And you know what, I would max Love. They arent using him correctly in Cleveland. Kyrie isn't using him correctly I should say.

Irving doesnt play well with others.
