You're confusing two parts - the first is the right of the Jewish people for self determination. You're welcome to explain to me why the Jewish people don't have that right. Why do the French people have the right to a country and the Jewish people don't?

As for the Israeli-Arab conflict - that's another issue. It's an issue of two people wanting the same piece of land and an issue of borders. There has never been a "Palestinian" or Arab state in the current state of Israel. This is matter for both side to agree upon a border. There are hundreds of border disputes between nations throughout history. It's not that interesting.

AS for your question about the Bavarians living in the diaspora - I would say yes. If there were a people, with distinct ties and culture that were originally from Bavaria and were expelled from there, and these people would have no homeland and were historically persecuted, I would say they would have the right to come back to their origins and establish a homeland in Bavaria. They would have to share the land with the current inhabitants according to some agreed upon border. To the best of my knowledge, no such situation exists.

To me, no "people" have a right to anything. Groups can't have rights IMO. I never said the french have a right to a nation of their own. Nor do the Americans or anyone. Might makes right in nation building really.

Jews were expelled from Israel, and voluntarily migrated away from there, centuries and millenia ago.

Not due to any one person other than me, this thread is locked. It was truly a very interesting thread covering a wide variety of topics being discussed by a lot of clearly intelligent folks, but it as run its course. PM me if you disagree and I will consider unlocking it.
