I'm starting think it might be a torn hamstring instead of a groin pull how long he's been out.

Got no idea on the type of injury, but just seems bizarre that they've given no sort of timeline. Seems like they should do something to manage fan expectations.

Look at the assist numbers Hendo has been getting in this new system. Even on his best day Hendo doesn't have half the court vision and passing ability that Lance has. Hendo hasn't exactly been stretching the floor either. He is basically playing the role that we originally expected Lance to have here until it was apparent we were still all in on Alfense. I think Lance is going to do quite well once he returns and gets back into game form.

If nothing else, Lance has brought a lot of intrigue to this season. We're mid-January and I don't think anyone has a clue what he is going to bring to this team.

Yeeeess

I have high hopes for this situation. I hate the way that management threw him under the bus by trying to trade him so quick but I think Clifford has handled the coaching aspect quite well even if he may have been a little too quick to bench him a time or two. We know Clifford is great at communicating with players and Lance seems to be building a relationship with the team from the sideline. I think as far as on the court is concerned it will be very easy to integrate Lance into what we are currently doing. Im still worried about Cliff being able to make this all work once Al is back but that is just as much due to Al. I actually think these injuries will make it easier since we can bring the pieces together in steps. It seems clear that Kemba is our focal point and his style is how we should play. The role players already seem to be flourishing in their roles as well as expanding them to be more than just role players in a couple cases. Now, we get to slowly add two potential major pieces one at a time. I like where this season is heading.

This x 1000. Dribble - drive - dish. Opportunistic penetration. Open lanes. Lance will be a kid in a candy store. We had him camped out on the perimeter launching long range shots or dumping to Al and never seeing the ball again. There was pressure on him to do things he wasn't asked to do - a total clash with the things that made him successful with the Pacers. Plus I think he's legit when he says he will come off the bench. Kemba's emergence as alpha dog must feel good for Lance because Kemba's style is better for Lance than Big Al's style. Despite Cliff's stubborn nature and preference for strict routine, I do feel he's flexible enough to go along with more uptempo and feel it will be difficult for Al to come back and command loyalty from his teammates for the style of offense that most benefits him even though it hurts other players.

Everything Cliff and Lance are saying is exactly what you'd want to hear. I especially like Clifford specifically pointing out that we've been playing more "5 man basketball".

I just hope that Cliff and everybody else notices that the change and improvement came when Al went down, not when Lance went down. I hope Lance gets to facilitate the seconomy unit with Roberts used as a shooter on the wing

I agree, give Lance the 2nd unit and make him the focal point of it.

I feel confident with a 1st led by Kemba and a 2nd led by Lance.

We're going to wear down teams on defense and moving the ball playing as a team on offense. It's the opposite of what was happening to us in the beginning of the year.

I think he shouldve waited one more game to come back just in case they lost to the defending champs and he got the blame for the loss

If he shrugs his shoulders or makes a mean face he'll probably get traded before the games over.

Can Lances ego handle coming off the bench for an extended period of time? I think he can, but hes unpredictable.

Shooting guard Lance Stephenson has been sidelined since Dec. 17 due to what the Charlotte Hornets are calling a pelvic sprain. Stephenson practiced on Monday and Tuesday with no issues and if he feels good on Wednesday the team will have him on the active roster against the San Antonio Spurs. The Hornets played better with Stephenson out of the lineup as thy posted a 9-5 record and are currently on a five-game winning streak. So, does he get his spot back or will he come off the bench? Stephenson says he doesn't care.

"I’ll probably come off the bench and I won’t be mad over that. I’ll just try to feel everybody out," Stephenson told The Charlotte Observer. "Right now we’re on a five-game winning streak and I don’t want to do anything to break that... I don’t expect to just come back and do everything."

There has been a lot of speculation and rumors that Charlotte shopped Stephenson early in the season as he appears to be a bad fit, so he will likely back up Gerald Henderson at shooting guard and see his minutes increase if head coach Steve Clifford gets proper production from him. Having Stephenson play well will help the team on the court and allow management to shop him if they prefer to go that route once again.

"I feel like at the beginning of the season I didn’t really get a chance to get a feel for everybody. (Through the injury) I got a chance to watch and see what they can do and how I can help them," Stephenson said. "I just have to get used to the system more. It’s hard to take what you learned for four years straight (as a Pacer) and just switch all that over."

Stephenson is making $9 million this season as part of his three-year contract with the Hornets, although it can reduce to two years if the third-year team option is declined.
