Re: PG: Posterized
A minor trade for a wing isn't going to save this team. I think it's time for a minor rebuild.
1) Over half the salary cap is dead money at this point. Rose/Noah make slightly over 50% of team salary.
2) Noah fell off the cliff, and his knee injury appears to be chronic. If it's not chronic then he shouldn't be out there, but if it is chronic then he's finished as an impact player. Either way it's a bad situation.
3) Rose doesn't even try anymore, and it's obvious from both his play and comments that he doesn't really care about basketball.
4) Thibs is a good defensive coach and a good motivator in the short term, but I don't think his rotations and overall strategy can take a team to contender status. The Bulls are WAY too static and predictable. I think the team has tuned him out -- negative reinforcement only works for so long.
Rose and Noah have to go unless this team wants to be a 1st round exit the next few years.

How Snell looked last night? He got another good amount of minutes..
I just really hate right now, despite some struggles from Niko on offensive rotations that he plays less and less.
Also TAJ with 18min,really THibs??? common man..

Re: PG: Posterized
I hope for miracles but don't really believe in them....
Expecting Rose and Noah to drastically improve by the end of the season is looking less likely.
That said, it's on them. They can improve in their roles and perhaps get hot at the right time, during the playoffs. Their state of health leaves a lot to be desired. Their defense is definitely looking career-worst.
Still, I'm cutting them slack. Wearing out their knees further makes no sense. But then, why the hell is Thibs playing Noah (in particular) in the 4th?? It's like the, players and the coach are on different pages, and that's concerning.

If we use Rose solely in the 4th quarter and Noah solely as a defensive specialist, we are still easily an ECF team.
You are massively discounting the rest of the team.

I think you're discounting CLE/TOR/WAS/ATL. I see the Bulls as likely to end up the 4th or 5th seed at this point. The 2nd half schedule is the hard half for the Bulls.
Remember the Bulls are a regular season team due to Thib's inflexibility with lineups and strategy. After a couple games the opponent usually figures it out and Thibs won't make adjustments in-series.

The second half is also where Rose and Noah are expected to be Rose and Noah like.
If that happens, all of the teams you talked about can go buy a dog.

We still have some hope for Derrick. Jo looks done though.

orlando with Tobias Harris could only muster 84 points on that lakers team with defensive stallworts like carlos boozer and nick the stink young coming off the bench.
Ryan Kelly at small forward and orlando couldnt score more then 84 and loses by double digits
but this bulls team gives up 120 to that same crap orlando team without there best offensive player tobias harris in a loss ?
WTF
The Lakers probably played with a lot more effort than the Bulls did and the Magic probably were not making every freaking shot in that game.
But Harris is not Orlando's best offensive player. Vucevic and Oladipo are their best 2 offensive players. Harris is their 3rd option.
harris is and has been there best offensive player all year, just cause vujevic and oladipo slaughtered the bulls doesnt mean otherwise

We're not a first round exit team even in the worst case. I am ready to part with both Noah and Rose at this point though, but I can't see us getting any value for either.

It's not overreaction. Will Perdue is saying the same thing and Thibs is pissed off too...
I agree that it is not an overreaction.
And about Thibs being pissed off? He should go watch film and see that his starting five is not working and get his head out of his behind and bench Noah, he is hurting the team.
Actually this is the first season that I don't really look forward to watch the team play. And since Jimmy came back to earth (don't know if b/c he is having some kind of injury or other teams figuring him out) there is no spirit left in the team.
I don't know who has to stand up, but Pau seems to be the best guess since he is the one with the rings. He needs to call out his teammates to play the game with intensity from start to finish.
I hope something changes pretty soon, otherwise this team might flame out really bad the rest of the season.

I feel similarly, some days I even forget it's game day. Which never happened before to me with Thibs as coach.
